Be interesting to see who starts against Foxes if he has recovered. Seems Ait-Nouri has made a real impression. Is it enough to cement the LWB slot? Only Nuno can answer that.

Be rough to drop him begging the question what more does one need to do to get another game

Aït-Nouri was always going to be the first choice LWB, even when Jonny comes back.

Ait-Nouri is basically what I hoped Vinagre would be.

I am surprised by how few seem to realise what a coup it was to get him.

I knew he was good. He was down as a wonderkid on the Football Manager games and they are usually pretty accurate. Fabio Silva is a wonderkid on them too. As was Joao Felix when we missed out on him.

Anyone got any suggestions for more impressive debuts?

Michael Branch scored 2 didn't he?

I remember thinking he was a budding star.

Think it might be wise to reserve judgement on Ait-Nouri until he completes a game where has to do a lot more defensively. Certainly looks good going forward, if he can defend as well as Jonny then Jonny will have to fight for his place back.

It's interesting that Ait-Nouri probably wouldn't have started if Marcal had been fit. What happens when he is?

He sits on the bench.

The most ridiculous red card I have ever seen. An absolute non event.

I think a majority of red cards are pretty weak but in todays game those types of challenges see red

I agree it shouldn’t have been a red. The player went for the ball and Moutinho got caught in what was a 50:50 ball to go for. The decision should be based on intent not on whether the other player got hurt.

Ait Nouri had a very good game and has earned more chances. Palace though played very narrow and hardly defended the wide areas at all. It was good that Ait Nouri, Semedo, Neto and Podence were good enough to take advantage of that but there won’t be many games like that this season where the opposition played into our strengths and Ait Nouri will have much more difficult games to come.

I know a lot of people felt we didn’t do enough in the summer and our league position would suffer as a result. But there wasn’t much wrong with our first 11 already and what we needed was to have more players who could come in and do the job. And the route taken was to sign some of the best prospects in Europe in Ait Nouri, Silva, Hoever and Vitinha to add to some impressive youngsters we had already like Kilman, Shabani, Otasowie, Marques. I think it was an exciting route to take and we are already seeing some positives

Last night felt so much better than the Newcastle game yet against Newcastle we had 63% possession and 16 shots. Last night we had 45% possession and 15 shots. At the end of the day the reaction to a game is influenced by the result much more than all the stats that get thrown at us nowadays

I think it was a red card. The Palace player will feel aggrieved as he got the ball and didnt really know where Moutinho was; but outstretched, studs up and ankle high making full contact is a red in today's game.

ridiculous comment,
going in late, studs first - should get a 3 match ban.

The red card may seem a bit harsh. But back in the day when challenges like that and worse were all part of the game, and might not even get a yellow.

But players were getting injured all the time, sometimes ending careers.

When the rule was bought in, I was not impressed. I saw it as a mans game, and it was just becoming soft and full of nancy's.

But I have come to appreciate, that a reckless challenge, no matter how innocent it might be, is in fact threatening a players career.

If he had broken our players ankle, would people still see it as a fair challenge? The red card might seem harsh, but it was the right decision, and important for the players that this rule is upheld.

Just watched the extended highlights, What a difference from the Newcastle game. I do think Palace made it easy for us but that having been said, Semedo is looking like the real deal now and Ait-Nouri is a massive step up from Saiss at LWB. Podence and Neto look so hungry and dangerous and combined with Jimeneze's movement off the ball, Dendoncker's work rate and Neves providing sublime passes, we look good enough to scare the dayllights out of anyone. And all this with no lessening of our defensive ability. I think we probably have the best back 3 in the league not to mention arguably the most under rated keeper!
The Nuno revolution is now the Nuno evolution and this side is evolving game by game.

Does anyone on here feel that Boly is not quite what he used to be. Still good but not great. I wonder if it's to do with him being on the right rather than on the left side of defence where, previously, he was almost invincible.
