Thats actually a good shout.
He's excellent at coaching players. But could he handle the pressure at a big club?
But he's not a SAF "fanboy" like Ole so he's got no chance
I like him a lot. I think he embodies discipline and a few of United players could do with that
He is a decent manager and I always thought he has the pedigree to take over a big club.
Not United though, United have Ole in charge, and he is doing a cracking job

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty sure he could handle a club 15th in the Prem..... Lots of experience in that department
He is a good manager. Did well at Liepzig when they finished 2nd and were relatively new. What he has which Ole lacks is a football identity.
No. Poch or we might as well stick with Ole
He's doing really well at Saints, they seem to do well at appointing managers. What has been key to his success at Saints though was giving him time to implement his identity.

Actually would prefer him to Poch
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why
i think the board know they won't get away with appointing too many failing managers and might opt for (what they see as) the safer bet in Poch.
You want to get a manager who's biggest career achievement isn't 'being hired by United'.
Frankly you should be after Ancelloti.
What about Nunes? Keeps impressing at Wolves.

Why
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because Poch has gone down a little in my eyes over his last season. also I would like to have won something.

Nunes Espirites Santes?
Rabbit Hutch?
Let's replace our current rookie, won nothing, lack of experience, out of depth, (but knows the club inside and out) PE teacher of a manager....
with a straight out of Uni, supply teacher?
Seriously?

They've done nothing but flip-flop in that regard anyway. It's not like the established managers have worked out well for them either.
United need to stop looking back to the immediate past and decide based on an actual project for the future instead of choosing whoever's opposite (to an extent) to whoever they've just fired.
The biggest problem is that all the board know is that they want to win, but clearly have no real clue of the path they want to lead to that success.
I still think Ten Hag is the most appealing name out there.
He re-established Ajax as top dogs in the Netherlands after a few barren years domestically and what's harder, restored their European prestige, all whilst playing a highly appealing and entertaining brand of attacking football.
The pressure at Ajax might not be what it would be at United, but they are certainly a big name in European football and he seems to have navigated that particular ship quite soundly.

To me, he is the case in point when you are talking about styles of play and coaches/ managers being able to get teams playing a certain way. This has always been the thing I have questioned with OGS. I have no idea what kind of team or style United have. Poch especially has a very specific way of playing and what he did with Southampton and Espanyol shows that as much as anything he did with Spurs. You also look at RH and you see the same thing with this Saints team. Are very clearly defined way of playing that makes the most of the players he has.

Agreed. The section on Ole explains as much. (It won’t let me copy and paste the text for some reason - admin, just says it’s spam and it’s happened a few times)

I think most fans would be on board with a Ten Hag/Van der Sar/Overmars triple hiring.

It would probably be the most logical choice. Which is why it won’t happen 🤣
