I mentioned on dublin’s “live” thread that once the persistent rain had eased, Leeds came back into the match and took it by the scruff of the neck for a while. I just think the Leeds defenders had extreme difficulty in dealing with the conditions at the start of the match and City took advantage of this.
I’m not taking away credit for City’s performance last night, but had the pitch been dry from the off we might have had a major tussle on our hands.

They need to hope it doesn't rain in the winter, in England!, they push so many forward there are huge spaces to exploit a bit like Southampton do too sometimes it works

I’m not so sure nowadays but I used to consider our snowbound and sodden pitches as “great levellers” and reduced matches, at times, to a farce. You must have seen a good few in your time D & D. I certainly have. Upon leaving the ground you’d cotton on to those muttering “ref should have called it off”...etc...etc. I’ll always remember that Spurs match at Maine Road in the late 60’s shown on MOTD. Bone hard pitch and snow. An almost impossible task for Jennings to keep the ball out.

I remember a FA cup tie at Luton v Man city, Law scored 6 goals and ref called the game off, pitch waterlogged, Luton won replay 3-2
