Why not, said last season Frank did not overachieve, had like the 3rd most expensive squad, then added 200m worth of top talent to it. Taking time to bed them in but its improving, i expected a challenge from Chelsea still do.
I think Liverpool will win it by a sizable points margin still. Chelsea will be a lot closer to City this season though imo. Possibly even finishing above them
Anything is possible but I think that the plan was always to try to mount a serious title charge next season. We're still in the infancy stage of this new and exciting Chelsea side. Ziyech is still playing his very first games for the club. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that.

In isolation I don't buy the expense of a squad point.
United gave squandered a fortune on average to poor players.
Likewise, we have wasted a huge sum on a keeper who no one wants to buy from us. We also paid a fortune for Morata.
Also players original book value goes down over time as they pass their peak.
No chance, it’s Spurs’ title this season with Leeds jointing them in the top 4
What superb said. I'm watching motd again now so that's progress.
They have the basis of a very decent squad. Not convinced with lampard, but player wise there’s some very good young talent in there and waiting in the wings . Not title winners, but up there for sure, should get better as it goes ok
This season's so f**ked up I'm only really interested in points tally to determine success. All of us top 6 sides who don't win it will, at some point during the season, think this year was a missed opportunity I'm sure.
If we get between 75-80pts & win the league, awesome. If we get that but don't, and the winner gets 80-85, still awesome
Biggish...you're probably right, & we'll have dips in the season, but currently going in very much the right direction.
So many good things to see today...loved Frankie's little wry smile to himself in the last ten minutes...a man who has turned a little corner methinks
Next two games are very winnable & the next test will be up against a team that will be up there in the final reckoning...I guess Spurs come int othat category
feel dirty writing that..
Hate to say this but looking good 👎🏻
Good to see some improvement and subsequently consistency at last.
Chelsea’s good run coincided with the introduction of Mendy in goal. Silva finding his feet and Ziech returning from injury improved the defence, and more creativity in the squad. The team looks more balanced now.
Agree, still short on the CM area, though Kante’s performance was up by a notch today, but there is no guarantee he’ll stay injury free for the season ? The defence looks more shakey with Jorginho in front of the defence.
I’d still make Liverpool favourites for the title. Fabinho seems to have slotted well in their defence. City will run them close though, but expect Chelsea to be a lot closer to the top this season.

Not yet but I’m enjoying what I’m seeing. Great job frank is doing
I am still worried about our centre backs - we should be looking for a top class, not old, strong, fast centre back. Silva will tire quickly with the amount of games we have.
Mendy looks fair, good distribution, doesn't dwell on the ball, comes for crosses. I hope he continues to grow into the position. Think Chilwell and James balance the team really well. Like them both, especially Reece James - he's going to be world class if he carries on.
Ziyech looks the real deal. Hope he continues and becomes a Chelsea legend. Werner has to start aiming a couple of inches below the bar but I like him too. Kovacic had a good game today but our midfield still fcks around with the ball in front of goal too much.
Much improved. A lot happier than 3 weeks ago. But no league this season.
What cb do you have in mind Eric?

Lots of reasons
1 Mendy
2 Silva
3 Kante in DM
4 Two good wide options in Chilwell/James
5 no Alonso or Kepa
6 Less Jorginho
& that's before we get started on the improvement up front
I see no reason why Chelsea cannot win the league. Frank looks to have sorted out their main problem, the defence. the attack/midfield was always going to be good enough, with the first XI and back ups, being top class.

I don't think losing to City is gonna say too much about Liverpool.
VVD is a significant ayer for them, but Fabinho has done really well at CB. So far it looks like they can cope.
