Wolves seem to just have an MO in being defensive first half. To be fair, it seems to work for them. I think their problem today was putting faith in some weaker players when they had better players available (particularly left defence). So did we with Thomas to be fair, but we got away unscathed and made the needed change at half time.
I enjoyed the tactical battle around Traore, with Justin moving to left midfield to double up on him.
Oh, and that wasn’t a penalty for me. Although of course the second was a stonewaller.

😮😯😳😧🤣
6 wins in a row with a 15-2 swing on Goals for and against. The majority of our PL games with 4 or 5 first team players out. Brilliant.
Can’t wait for Ndidi and Ricardo back. Thank you so much Fuchs for being a Leicester legend and I hope he gets the reward in Europa when Soyuncu and Castagne come back.
If this potentially the best squad we’ve had for a top flight season ever?
Unbelievable performance by this squad of players
Makes you wonder
How they would have done, if it was the odd player covering for rest periods
Rather than getting a run through injuries which has obviously given them more pitch time,,
Ti's a funny ole game!
Ps - in terms of the penalty - pundits and the media have got to start getting behind VAR and refs when they make the correct call in relation to the rules. It is the only way we will recognise that the issue is with the fools making them. I thought VAR and the ref were excellent in terms of how they interpreted, managed and applied the rules for our goal.
What we desperately need, is for either the rule-makers and/or the refs to apply the same rules in other areas of the park. Not necessarily to promote the use VAR for a midfield hand ball but to utilise the same application of the rules - just as a red card tackle (excluding professional fouls) would be determined against the rules of the games, irrelevant of the position of the field.
Whilst this would still result in some hand balls being missed because of the lack of VAR usage within ‘non-goal scoring opportunities’, it would still provide some opportunity for consistently as, at the moment, it appears fifa and the use of VAR is becoming involved in a completely separate way to the rest of the rules of football, rather than an addition/enhancement or improvement to the status quo

Where does Ndidi fit now. Mendy was immense today again protecting the ball with his body so well and playing some lovely passes and turns. He’s often the start of our fast breaks. With this formation it may end up with Ndidi in defence again. Or allows us to play another formation.
Dubs. We unreal at the moment.

I disagree. The decision was wrong, VAR was used incorrectly and gave a false impression of the incident instead of clarity and VAR remains an utterly miserable intrusion on our game.
It’s not about interpretation or implementation. The problem is, always has been, and always will be, VAR itself. I hate it.
Unfortunately , as much as we all hate the FA’s rules and we can have our own opinions of whether they are the ones that should be implemented or not, that is current ‘apples’ we are having to like.
Whether VAR is or isn’t used as an application is superfluous with regard to whether or not the detail of a ‘rule’ is considered ‘fair’ or ‘right’ from the perspective of an individual or collective.
Whether VAR is intrusive or not, it’s provision is to provide additional support with regard to deciding upon a conclusion based on the objective rules of football. This is inclusive of the encouragement of referees utilising the pitch side screens (which, IMO, should be encouraged more).
The only way in which we could criticise VAR in this context would be if it interrupted play for a decision which couldn’t be considered as contravening the ‘rules’. Unfortunately, despite my own personal opinion, I don’t think this happened. The only reason we could criticise the referee is if he utilised the pitch-side screen despite contrary advice from VAR - which didn’t happen either.
Don’t get me wrong - I hate the current use of VAR with regard to its consistency and general consistency in relation to the letter of the law but I can’t see how we could criticise it on this occasion and also think it’s imperative to support it (with regard to correct usage) if we are to have any sort of unity and consistency with regards to its use moving forward.
I’m with KTF. VAR was used correctly today. Arm was away from the body and blocked the cross. In the rules that’s a pen and VAR did it’s job.
Now, whether I agree with the rule is another matter. Same with stupid armpit hair offsides.
And to agree with KTF even more, I’m gonna say that pound for pound, player for player this is easily the most talented squad I’ve ever seen.
I mean, it’s close to the David Pleat era, but Tony James abs Ali Mauchlin just get pipped by the current squad.
Just hope Evans is ok and we keep building. Don’t want more and more injuries to build up and ruin this.
I’m beyond the point of caring whether a VAR decision is technically correct. I’m looking at decisions now and asking myself: Should that be a foul/goal/overturned in a way that makes the game what we want to see. If not, VAR has it wrong. Simple as that.
It’s not about technically correct or even consistency. I just want this oppressive trash out of the game.
Absolute stone wall penalty, the arm was away from the body and blocked a cross. Penalty with or without VAR

I have to admit Dunge, I’ve quite enjoyed watching the Europa league and knowing that when we score a goal, it’s actually a goal!!!
Its up to the defender to move his arm away from the ball. I'm sure though the season we will have a couple of these go against us. These of course should not be penalties.

Me too - but that is oppression from those in their ivory towers - VAR is simply a tool - blaming it for the decisions of those in the tower avoids the issue and potentially helps extinguish support that we all wanted to be brought in to the game for one reason or another
No. No no no. VAR itself is the problem. Not the people who use it. There will never be a state we can get VAR into where it will be for the good of the game. It is the black dog sitting in the middle of the pitch.
I get frustrated by poor officiating decisions as well, but this was never the answer to it. Goal-line technology, yes. VAR no. I have never backed it because I’ve seen how horrible it is in rugby, constantly waiting for decisions and seeing great moves and tries chalked off because someone’s found an infringement that everyone had missed at the time. It’s not like in tennis or cricket where exact decisions are needed.
Football’s laws are subjective and VAR is not. That is the problem.
I’m not sure the issue of VAR being used and VAR being used incorrectly have to be mutually exclusive. On this occasion, in terms of the current rules being applied, it’s the latter.
I think the issue you highlight is the main one - VAR or not, the rules need to be more objective.
Ha! * - it’s not the latter.
I have to say, I don’t think VAR has added to the spectacle of football. I just wait after every goal now thinking “what was wrong with that”.
What really disgusts me are perfectly good goals like Bamfords rules off, or goals chalked off for a heel of someone walking back inside being a mm off.
If it’s to be used, for me it needs to be a clear and obvious error and the linesman needs to go back to flagging if he thinks it’s offside. I’m sick of attacking teams getting an advantage when a clear offside is allowed to play on and then the player cuts back, keeps possession and then 2 phases later the team get a corner. Erm what, he was a mile off 10 seconds ago!!!
Just watching MOTD and in their poll they’ve just said that 70% want rid.
Looks like you’re not alone Dunge.
I think 100% want rid at the minute - in terms of how it’s used, 99% of the time. It’s a joke

The laws that made football work because they’re *not* objective. Those laws shouldn’t change!
The problem is that we’re trying to view them through an objective eyeglass (VAR). The solution is to stop using the eyeglass!
But they are objective Dunge.
Offside, red cards and handballs all have very clear written objective rules.
Surely the application of VAR whether it’s by the ref or not remains a subjective application of the objective rules? Take our handball yesterday for example. People are still debating it - the ref made a subjective decision using VAR at the pitch side.
Not saying I’m in favour of it, but for me mistakes from VAR are just the same as mistakes by the ref or linesman in real time.
Now, if you are arguing whether the delays to the game and removal of enjoyment of goals is a reaso to remove VAR, I’m with you. It spoils it, but you seem to be arguing the VAR has changed the application of rules, when it hasn’t, it’s just tried to improve the accuracy of them.
By the way, I hate it for clarity!
