Why do they use the term destroyed? say killed ffs, they aren't inanimate objects
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Makes it more palatable for us poor humans. It's like calling dead cow 'beef' or deal pig 'pork'.
We need protecting
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually pig and cow come from Saxon languages because the farming would often have been done by Saxon farmers.
Beef and pork come from Norman french because at that time the wealthier individuals in this country would have been eating the meat (not tending to the animals) and would have spoken French at the time.
Nothing to do with 'protecting people'. Read a book.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair, that sounds like a very niche, special interest book
“Excuse me, do you have ‘The Proto-Germanic and Old Norman Etymology of the Domesticated Animal and its Derivatives in the English language’ by J R Hartley?”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well go read that book then
I'm currently living 80km from the Danish border and there's absolutely no concern from the German government which I find disturbing being the only country bordering them by land.

Considering they are probably better informed than us maybe this means there isn't some great need to panic?

That what I thought but when we take into the consideration the way covid has engulfed the world, then I'd have thought they'd have put something out by now.
