Helped that we were able to recruit and produce good players in that period. Could turn out only about 2/3 players we’ve bought since 2018 are of any use
We lost our values long before Wenger left
The Arsenal I "fell in love with" was Tony Adams, Paul Davis, Michael Thomas, Paul Merson, Alan Smith, David Rocastle, George Graham etc tbf.
Bungs, drugs, alcoholism, prison, jaw breakers, and titles! The good old days.
said on another article that I am struggling to enjoy the league games, obviously the lack of fans has taken a lot away but something is missing.
Maybe I am biased but the Wenger and Fergie Era remains unsurpassed. Yes Pep and Klopp are arguably better managers but their teams just dont seem to cause the adrenalin rush we used to get back then.
The invincibles are a hard act to follow, even the Cesc led 2008 team are a hard act to follow.
A lot has changed in football, as rigid tactical formations move from Siera A to 90% of most leagues world wide

I wonder if this all relates to the disgusting conduct which saw Wenger hounded out. That debacle's left people in authority feeling Wenger must be erased in every way, including playing style. It really is time for this football team to get back to doing what brought us to the PL contenders dance in the first place. Ironically, we're now far better equipped to do so, than Wenger ever was in his last 3 or 4 years at least. And before that, any one of 5 or 6 teams he put together, could have romped the PL with a Partey at DM instead of a Denilson, Song or Arteta.
Personally I think this is a big no brainer given the players we have. Maybe we're not doing it because nobody wants to hear the commentating/pundit words "They look like Wenger's Arsenal again. " GET OVER IT! That's the privilege won by being so good at doing something, people don't mention it, without mentioning you. Arteta needs to bite the bullet, play Arsenal football and when the inevitable comments are made. Just take them for the compliment they will be. Since if those words do start being said, it means we're playing kickass footy and looking damn good doing it. Meaning he'd be doing an awful lot right.

True. Best comment I've ever seen.
Think Arteta is really overly focused on our defensive stability and organisation which was a mess when he arrived. He did sort this out quite well, but he should have progressed his plan further by now. Maybe he’s worried if he lets the handbrake off to soon we’ll end up losing a game heavily then will be concerned that the stability he instilled will evaporate and he’ll have to start again. Obviously he will have to find a balance with attack soon, otherwise no matter how solid we are we won’t get much points because teams will have no fear that we can score enough goals to win, so can just come at us. I think he is aware we have to do better going forward, it remains to be seen if he’s capable of finding this balance. He’s still learning himself, so I hope he’ll figure it out, we’ll just have to wait and see how next games pan out

I agree with the last sentence of your comment. However, I would ask: "Why in the hell did Arsenal bring this type of guy in the first place?"
In addition, I wonder what level of respect some of the Arsenal highly paid "prima-donnas" have for Arteta in the first place. This club will struggle thoughout the whole season the remain in the top ten.
This is the Arsenal we all fell in love with.
----------------------------------------------------------
Ballacks it is. Do you think no one supported Arsenal before Wenger came along?
But that aside, I think there is one massive thing Arteta doesnt seem to get, or maybe he does but is too stubborn to apply it.
That is, the important thing is what the players do on the pitch.
I very much get the impression that he is a manager who currently makes his decisions based on other things. Some players just arent that good in training, they need the buzz of a game to bring the best out in them. Ozil comes to mind. Other s must be great in training as they keep getting picked but just arent up to scratch. Xhaka comes to mind.

This comments about training are becoming ridiculous. So you're telling me Laca and Willian are so good in training and everyone else don't give their best so they don't play?
Technically this is by far the worse arsenal team ever.
Leeds, wolves, Villa, all have more technically gifted players than us.
By Partey, who else would get into the MF of these clubs?

This team is terrible because it's construction policy has been poor, even in the latter years of Wenger. The practice of cherry picking throughout Europe for so called "star players" and putting Arsenal uniforms on them does not necessariuly make a team.
Many times before I have commented on the fact that there needs to be a better player development system and this team needs to be built from the ground up, plus a talented scouting system and a few exprienced players who can support these new "Arsenal" players to develop their talents.
Right now Arsenal has too many "star" players who lack energy and passion and who frequently fail to show up on game day.
Currently, Arteta appears as if he would be more comfortable as a Chelsea coach?
I don't have kids, for those who do: how do you explain to them that this manager had planes calling for his head after finishing 2nd, when we are now a mid table team. Videos like this https://youtu.be/WBOT0Tqpbag when other clubs treat legends like Dalglish, Keegan, Fergie, etc like gods despite the fact Dalglish was awful.
Fans telling other fans to appreciate finishing top 4 every year as we had no god given right and that we had got so used to it we didn't appreciate it anymore. Those fans rightly saying to appreciate where shut down and castigated. Where are the fans shutting down now we are comfortably a mid table team no better than Wolves Villa, Palace etc

You’d hope they brought him in because they saw he was capable of becoming a good manager and could in time turn arsenal around. There’s also other side, knowing how clueless those at the top can be, that he was just a bit of a panicked lazy appointment that with him being former player, the fans would give him bit of time keeping the pressure off the club for a bit longer. Similar with how I see the appointment of Ole. Hire an inexperienced manager then fans can’t expect instant success, gives those at the top bit of breathing room
It all remains to be seen. It’s still too early to write Arteta off in my view, loads of good managers have low points then recover and become a success. This will be a defining moment for him though where he can prove he if he’s a good manager or not.
It's a shame. We all hoped Arteta picked up everything he knows from Pep, but it turns out it was from Moyes...
So now he's Moyes but without a Big Dunc or Fellaini to knock it long to. Now it makes sense why we bought that lanky Swedish kid in summer!

Arsenal should focus on which player will be right for the team not right for the fans
A player name ending in NHO or TOS may excite the fans but if someone called Paul Smith is better for our team and will make us more organised then so be it. The fans will eventually see its benefits
