Trump doesn’t have to have Biden pardon him. He can pardon himself before he leaves office. The validity of the pardon would be adjudicated bu SCOTUS.

Another one I have heard is that he will quit because of the "rigged" election, then acting president Pence will pardon him.

Not necessary for the gangster-in-chief to 'horsetrade' with the president-elect. Hand over top- gangster role to the current no2 and they will pardon him.

Happened with Nixon. I was an angry protesting, student teenager at the time.

But it matters not anyway. The US is so corrupt in it's political domain (structurally and systemically) that apart from a few civil suits he won't face any serious charges.

Systemically criminalizing the top gangster wouldn't be acceptable, as it is essentially attacking the whole of US culture.

Whilst the Mueller report politically was the proverbial "nothing burger", there were several instances of obstruction of justice that arouse. He can't be indicted on these as he is the sitting president.

The Southern District of New York are currently investigating his taxes, with plenty of evidence and testimony that he committed tax fraud by devaluing his assets when he was doing his returns.

According to the New York times he paid 66 million in taxes since the year 2000, hes been using legal loop holes like the alternative minimum tax scheme to pay less tax recently. May all amount to nothing in terms of legal culpability

It's not a whose better situation. If Biden is as bad no doubt we will find out.
But Trump has been inv in a lot of dodgy deals. I don't think he will go to prison but I think it will cost him in money and reputation.
You can't let people walk away because someone else is just as bad
