I remember when Quixall left Wednesday for United.
I remember him very well. He was a tidy player for us, but not exceptionnel. I always thought, with no evidence, that the fee and expectations were too much for him. A nice lad I thought.
Before I was born Sandy, but my Dad was a huge fan of his. He said he really was a "golden boy".
He was the epitome of a modern young footballer at that time - had blond hair and a huge quiff like a Teddy Boy and turned his shorts over at the waist to reveal his legs, at a time when most footballers were wearing them down to the knees and baggy !!!

It seems as if Wednesday had the best of him
There must be more who remembered him. He played when we won the cup in 63, with Bobby and Denis in the side.
