Philips coming back made us much more solid however I am still not sure about our defence. Arsenal really offered zero threat so a clean sheet whilst welcome should not be seen as a great achievement.
As stated by others on here, the inability to take good chances is a real worry. Others need to step up and not expect Bamford to score all our goals.

Did you go to make a brew when Bukayo Saka was through on goal/
I don't think there's any need to be gloomy about this result – I'd have taken a point against Arsenal before the match and we can definitely come out of it with heads held high. Of course, there are areas we can look at: BBC website describes it as 'wasteful finishing' and no-one can disagree with that. It's reminiscent of the first half of last season (and the season before) when we were pulling our hair out at the quality of balls into the box; lack of chances created and squandering the chances we did have. This time, however, I don't think any blame can be attached to Bamford – service to him was poor and he made decent stabs (literally) at any chances that came his way. Our passing was a bit wayward at times (take a bow Mr Ayling), but I think the lack of game time together probably had an impact. Having said all that, if just one of our near misses had have gone in, it would have been a different game and we'd be now praising the team to high heaven. Onwards and upwards – we'll have a stronger team against Everton so let's do what we did at Villa.
"Philips coming back made us much more solid however I am still not sure about our defence. Arsenal really offered zero threat so a clean sheet whilst welcome should not be seen as a great achievement."
ts, it could be because of our defence Arsenal offered zero threat, they did the job asked of them and did it well!..
"we'd do well to remember we are still making that transition from playing championship football to the worlds elite."
As well as what Spit says, people shouldn't forget not that long ago a lot of this team were 3rd Div players!..
Don't think you'll see many teams doing what these players are doing, the only way we'd be able to do anything to improve their work rate would be to buy 11 100k-er players, which it should be said the only person dumb enough to do that wouldn't have tried because it'd cost to much!..
Oh, and his team are now a 2nd Div team in his home land!..

tslufc.. agree about KP, and have to agree ref taking chances, but I think Raph, Rodrigo are that quality about that will take those chances.
the rest I totaly disagree with the logic.. "Arsenal really offered zero threat so a clean sheet whilst welcome should not be seen as a great achievement".. mate, I can't make any sense of it.. surely by dominating the game WE limit that ability to take chances..
again, have a little step back and think we played Arsenal off the park and we unlucky not to win (hitting bar twice and the post once) who are a seasoned premier league team.. it was 5 months ago or so we lost to Cardiff when we were a champioship club who could only dream of the premier league we'd been out so long.

Fair enough points, we dominated the games against Leicester and Palace as well but without KP they got at us with pacey counter attacks. Let's hope yesterday was a reset for us and we can go back to being hard to score against.
We are crying out for a 10
Erikson is available why not try our luck
Serious player who would be like Pablo in terms of his control and the “eye of a needle” you need in games like this
Our style suits counter attack and when we have to have control and try and break down we have struggled for years
I appreciate we did create some chances and question marks over the finishing too

here here ts...
another thing we shouldn't forget as you rightly bring up the absence of KP.. last couple of games (pre arsenal) we've been unable to field our strongest side, without Rodrigo, KP, both huge players for us.
you could say we should have cover, but realistically are we going to spend a fortune on cover, that might not play.. and if not, and you try and do it on the cheap, whats the point in spedning at all.. using young hungry already adapted to beilsa ball squad players makes more sense, especially when you consider its our first season back, and there is a pandemic on, menaing we're not taking / making money from the gates.
convinced we have the formular right - but we should all expect, given the way we play, that we're going to get thumped now and again, like all other premier league teams do at some point.
we're also going to win some... a 12th finish would be a good acheivment, the first season back.. then kick on, with a an established Rodrigo, Raph, etc etc...
I thought the match was dire and from a Leeds POV worrying, coming off successive bad defeats.
One of the worst games I've seen on TV so far this season regarding skill factor....I lost count of misplaced passes, shots over the bar or wide, not much technique on show, apart from Rodrigo.
Arsenal were dire too, no creativity, I feel they were there for the taking, playing with 10 men, but Leeds were short of inspiration to break their defence.
Let me go through the players and comment on their creativity in this particular game....
Ayling....no creativity so many misplaced passes, 5
Dallas....usually consistent, no creativity, 5
Koch....no creativity I could see, poor shooting, 5
Cooper...some good long passes, but not conspicuously creative, defensively suspect, 6
Phillips....again played good long passes, sound, 6
Klick....hard working as usual, but poor I thought, 5
The forwards, no creativity whatsoever, apart from Rodrigo, 6 mark, the others 5....
My prediction was a 13th finish but we're drifting down the wrong end, the league table is settling down, a few more defeats in the next games and we could be fighting relegation!
well you've right cheered me up NJS

Yorkie, I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday when I read he was free to leave in January. It would be a great move. However, I doubt very much MB would see him as a part of our team (based on recent history).
On the flip, not sure he'd be interested in us. Manchester club we loathe is sniffing around him. Maybe Spurs might want him back also?
Still, heck of a player.
Yeah agree Batty
There would be other options available. Ozil has the talent but his wage age and attitude may count against him. Then again Pablo has proved age is no object
We clearly want a 10 as we went for the French lad, so maybe one to keep an eye out for
