There's no like for like literal translation but I'd go for 'gwybod y cyfan' which is knows it all.

To be fair that's pretty accurate as a lot of people call me a 'know it all'. It's a great compliment!

There's apparently a Welsh idiom where being "in the valley" means that you know something. So "people in the know" might be "Pobol y Cwm", or "people of the valley". That's my understanding anyway.

There's apparently a Welsh idiom where being "in the valley" means that you know something. So "people in the know" might be "Pobol y Cwm", or "people of the valley". That's my understanding anyway.

I've never heard of that one but it may be from down south and not up north where I am.

Pobol y Cwm is, of course, a long running soap opera where I find it difficult, at times, to understand what they're saying.
