Best was before my time, so I will have to say Maradona is my favourite.
I was born in '68, so I don't really have any meaningful memories of Best.

To be offended by Maradona is to miss the point. Marvel at his skill instead, his audacity, his technique, his vision, his virtuosity, his power, his maverick, unpredictable nature and all that came with it, and simply celebrate the joy and unpredictability football can bring
Sad news to wake up to. The guy imo was arguably the best ever, at ‘worst’ top 5 of all time. Either way the world just lost one of the true characters of the game and when I was growing up he was THE man.
My one Maradona story was when I met the ex-Socceroo captain Paul Wade at a soccer expo in Australia and he was captain when Argentina and Australia drew 0-0 in a World Cup play-off in 1993. Everyone asked him what Maradona was like. Wade said not only was he a class player on the pitch, he insisted on going into the opposition changing room after the game and shaking everyone by the hand and congratulated them on a tough game.
The people trolling him on this thread obviously have some serious personality defects and won’t even leave a millionth of the legacy behind that Diego did.
when I was growing up he was THE man

Best or Maradona, impossible to know really.
I always said George was the best I have ever seen live. But I may have had a different opinion if I'd seen Diego live, but it's not really important.
Of course I'm biased as I thought Dennis and
. Bobby were in the top five. Together with Kenny and Henry.

You’ve just made yourself look like a total cuuunt here. I’d quit while you’re (not) ahead.
It's useful I suppose to the rest of us that all the most dickish people on the forum are using this thread to identify themselves.
RIP Maradona - the most imperious player I've ever seen.

I’d take your opinion, or lack there of, as being as worthless as the opinion of the fat cheating cokehead sc## on one of his failed drug tests

Oh, I get it now. You’re trying to come across like a chode of a man. Cool, I noticed you. You win.
I’m genuinely curious as to why folks on here are siding with him, whilst I appreciate that Man Utd were not great, though, not terrible in 1986 don’t you remember the players he robbed even if just in your side like Bryan Robson
From what I remember Gary Bailey, who looked rather like He-Man, would have been on the bench that day
Think people have grown to get over things, and I think you should to.
there were no United players in the starting line up in the Hand Of God game. Butch Wilkins was only a sub.
