Huddlestone Operation

Thudd played the most games out of any player (I believe) in the season we got fourth.

People forget Luka did really well that season until he got injured. When he came back towards the end Tom had been bossing it from midfield for months. It's hard to think now that Modric was the peripheral player at the time, but that is just how good Hudd is imho.

Such a shame we didn't have him for so much of last season, and now more months out this.

I think Thudd is good in certain games, but other times the game seems to pass him by. He seems to struggle against dynamic midfielders, which most of the top 6 teams boast now. I'd still say he is behind Parker, Sandro for his position, and dare I say I feel Livermore is fast catching him up.

He's out for 3 months apparently.

as chicken say's i've heard a 'few' months..........

bumble,i feel thudd is fine given time on the ball, but i watched him closely in the pre-season friendly vs bilbao, and if your busy and get about the pitch,he'll struggle.

Parker is not the most dynamic of players....he positions himslef well and gets stuck in but he is no faster or more mobile than Huddlestone.

Hudd is one of the most technically gifted English players there is.....tell me what Barry had that Hudd does and barry is a starter for England.

Its a shame for us and Thudd, but with Parker and Sandro I think we will be ok

Last time Thudd was out we had Jenas for cover

I think we'll miss Huds for his passing ability but other than that, as Smeg says, we have Sandro & Parker to cover the other aspects of his game.

Shame for the lad but we havent been struggling in that postition without him. We are blessed with options there atm.

all it takes is one more injury and suddenly we are stretched in that position. it must be a north london things. cant keep anyone fit.

to be honest i just think we are both a bunch of complete softies

I reckon all footballers are Chronic. I think its gone to the stage now where they are threading a fine line in fitness. To perform at that level and speed you need to be very strong. I think most players are very close to capacity fitness wise.

I'm not sure you can say its a North London thing, players get injured in all positions, all of the time, for all clubs.

Just look at Tom Cleverley for example. I use him as an example as i put him in my dreamteam & then he breaks his damn foot in his first game since.

cleverly got injured due to a shocking tackle from davies though. getting injured when someone takes you out is different from just picking up little knocks that keep you out for months.

As i said, Cleverley was just an example. There are far more injured players than just Cleverley, Spurs players & Arsenal players.

on having too feel 100%,i read a article in the sun(yeah i know)with king ledley, and he say's he never feels more than 60?70% fit when he plays.........

god,if he could ever get that 30/40% extra back.......MY GOD what a player he would be........!!!

posted on 29/9/11

junction,

Yeah i read that too.

The problem is, i dont think he will ever get that extra 30% back. I'm not sure you can when you cant actually train with a football.

Only playing at 60%/70% is a stipulation in Ledley's contract.

He is not permitted to play at 100% as it's not fair on the rest of the league, nor Chuck Norris

I wouldn't put it past him.

I also wouldn't put it past him to play him as an attacking midfielder or on the wing.

Ledley should retire from international football. Fully fit players have been doing that for years.

Every other type of football > International Football

He did say he couldn't see himself pulling on any other shirt than a Spurs one the other day, maybe reading between the lines a bit but I'm surprised he hasn't retired from the international game.

As if it carries any pride with it these days anyway

I think he did actually say another club shirt.

thing is,as with owen hargreaves,i think capello is desperate for them to be able to come back to the international fold.....!!
