Still think we will win the league , we have got good players - Trent and Thiago back this month . Need a bit of luck with the injuries would help can’t do with anyone else getting hurt .
Not sure about Europe as it’s too unpredictable
If we are within 3 or 4 points of top come january and we buy a centre half I think we will win it. We must buy a centre half though. Failure to do so and we can blame nobody but ourselves for coming up short.
If you can average two points a game when playing badly, it's not a disaster, but you need to start improving before too long.

Agree with this, obviously not helped by the lack of fluidity created by so many injuries, and lack of confidence in players who would normally be nowhere near the first team squad, but we need to turn it around.
This could be one of those seasons when the team top at the end of the year doesn't win it at the end of the season
Still same really, title challenge hopefully, knockout cl again hopefully better run in the FA cup. With the start and injuries and it only gonna get worse its going to be much harder but still hope we can achieve them.
OP....with everything against us....we are still right at the top...That must be killing the rivals

Just by the sheer law of averages our lucks got to change at some point with regards to injuries. If we can carry on scraping through this period without falling away from the top, and I think we will, then I’m very confident we’ll retain the title.
Also, everyone needs to stop bemoaning our ‘bad luck’ with regards to VAR. People need to accept that this is now the norm, things that didn’t used to be given now are. Everyone gets the decisions for and against their team, but there’s probably very few that are actually outright wrong according to the letter of the law. Those laws may be ridiculous in some cases, but they are what they are.
Injuries aside we are not playing well enough or consistent enough.
We need to get back to basics before i believe we have much hope of winning anyhting.
VAR is VAR. if you make chances you will get those breaks. we are not making chances.
The state of minamino today shows what i mean. He was as effective as a wet wipe in a sauna.
We need to buy a good CB in January. Failure to do so will I fear derail the season with VVD abd Gomez out.
I agree with terms point about VAR. At least there is more consistency now, it can be infuriating but it's the rules and how it's implemented which causes confusion and irritation. I prefer VAR to seeing officials just getting decisions plain wrong.
Our injuries so far have been ridiculous and the squad and performance levels are creaking. Get some players back and buy a CB or two and we will be there or thereabouts.

He’s yet to show any signs he’s of the right quality , we desperately need Thiago ox and Trent back , we then have a bit of cover . Shaq would help as well

Sick note He got wiped out in the derby, one impact injury that none of us know anything about.

It was a bad challenge and his injury record is ok , he will be an excellent player for us
my expectations this season are lots of injuries. for all teams.
players aren't being given sufficient recovery time.
teams like brighton today are massively overwatering the pitch to slow the ball down when facing good passing teams. (not a complaint per se, they have every right to do that. but today was over the top, even their own team struggled with it), it makes for very heavy going on already tired, unrested legs.
and it's just going to get worse when teams start playing on hard frozen surfaces as well.
i think any team in europe should field the under 23 team for the domestic cups this season. it'll be good for them, and it's the only way the first team players will get any suitable recovery time between games.
if they do that, i expect the usual teams to take the top 4, and the usual teams taking the europa places.
otherwise things will depend a lot on when teams go out of the cups (europe and domestic) with the vagaries of scheduling/injuries and the overeager application of VAR throwing a few curveballs into the mix.
klopp is definitely right about one thing, chris wilder is a selfish prat. he's risking his own players just to get himself some more air time and score 'political points' on more successful managers.
5 subs isn't just to help successful managers with better squads. even moyes wants 5 subs now and no-one's going to describe him as a successful manager with a great squad.
