Wenger put Arsenal in this position...Emery and Arteta just aren’t good enough to get the club out of it. Simple as.

That’s a bit harsh. They went years without winning a thing after 2005. Whether you blame Wenger or not is a different discussion, but it’s not like they were winning the league/CL and then booing their own players after a couple of bad games. Probably no more “entitled” as a fan base than United, Liverpool, Chelsea etc. They’d seen great times and couldn’t agree on why they’d slipped away, that’s all.

You seem to have a very binary outlook on whether you should sack or retain a manager (just going by your username). You do know most people have a more nuanced view, rather than the quite childish in/out thing?

You don’t need hindsight to think this, it was obvious at the time he was treat disgracefully by some fans.

But they still needed to replace him with someone better years before they did. Instead they replaced him with coaches that are worse.

Wenger for amazing for the first 8 years. Did a good job for the next 6 or 7 years. Then the burden of the stadium cost eased and when we were meant to move forwards Wenger made a lot of bad decisions that started the decline. Many of which we are still being inhibited by.

Of course there were a section of the fanbase who went over the top. But to suggest Wenger should have stayed longer is laughable.

Wenger was dreadful for them at the end, just because they've somehow conspired to get even worse shouldn't distract from that.

Not quite the same. Ferguson is probably the best manager of all time, and left when his team were champions. Wenger lost his magic years ago, and was sacked after they became a mess on the pitch.
