Jose is anything but complacent...Not how winners like him win trophies

I think Spurs are a bit more ruthless under Jose. But having said that nothing surprises me in football. I just want to this game out of the way.
It is the game I hate more than any other. I am always more nervous about this game, than any other.
Not sure we can keep sitting back in big games against the so called better sides (not that Arsenal are, but they are still considered one of the big boys). Spurs have more than enough to get at Arsenal, and given them a right going over.
I like what i was hearing after the CFC game. The players were really disappointed with how they played.
They now seem really focussed and driven, expecting more from each other and themselves. There will be no complacency vs Arsenal and we have players in the team like Kane and Dier who will really be up for this game.
The only question in my mind is whether we show enough quality on the day. We certainly have the quality we just need to perform. It will not be down to a lack of motivation or focus, just delivery!
This game will be the true test of Jose’s evolution from his own naturally passive self, and an acknowledgment that in the modern game the onus is on the better teams to play football and win the game.
If he sits back a la Man City and Chelsea it will show that he remains someone who would rather not lose- a ploy that is no longer as effective to win trophies in the modern game.
But maybe I’ve been a Spurs fan way too long but it’s almost like the stage is set for them to get a unexpected result and kick start their season

I feel exactly the same

Liverpool beat us in the final by nicking a goal then shutting down the game for 90 minutes.

Sorry, we beat Man City 2-0. Are you saying we got our tactics wrong? Was the priority to entertain more? to keep more possession than the opposition?
You watch Arsenal, they will keep the ball and pass it around, all nice and pretty. They have scored 10 goals in 10 games. Spurs have 21 goals and 8 more points.
We will attack their weaknesses, which will inevitably be letting them come on to us and then hitting them hard and fast.
What happens if we go all out attack vs Chelsea
Yep, no room for complacency, even against that shower. Imagine losing to the worst Arsenal team in 30 years, the shame would be hard to stomach.
Arsenal are down, and we need to keep our foot on their head by way of a ruthless victory. We must not let these Woolwich clowns back onto their knees.
I’m not too concerned about this game, Ian very confident that all our players will be up for it and give it everything. As long as we are not unlucky then that application will be enough as they are a poor team that leaks plenty of goals.
The acid test will be at Anfield where for me we can lay down a marker by beating them. That game is just a little over 2 weeks away and will be hugely important for our confidence.
Hope we take it to them, they're not at the level of Chelsea and city.
A double edge sword. Arsenal win, slows down you lot, and well, makes the chase more interesting...
but then you’d have to put up with their shameless gloating.
Spurs win, and Arsenals season truly in the gutter.
Hmmm...
Screw it, run the damn sword through, and gut them!.
Just for the giggles, the meltdown will be worth it.
The only issue I have is how much luck this lot get against us and how they always seem to turn it on against us, despite them being utter s**. Definitely not a gimme this, but we certainly are way better than this shower. Just need to turn up and go right at them.
Arteta masterclass incoming

I understand the fea... concern, considering the years they had over you.
But what is undeniable, is that 14 years of rot has finally set in.
This decline has has been on the slow burn and was always coming and at no time, have Arsenal properly addressed it.
They can try to spin the paper over crack trophies they’ve won, but I was never fooled. Cos you could see the decline in the league.
4th became a priority for them. Not even a whisper of getting back as a title contender.
They weak, they are broken. Nothing to fear.
Execute them.
Many times over the years they’ve been top or near to it and we were languishing where they are. They would easily beat us at their place, we need to do similar Sunday
Who do people think are the bigger club right now out of Arsenal and Spurs?
Bigger club isn’t better team just for context,

What metric are you judging by? We have a bigger stadium and higher revenues. We've got one of the most successful managers in football, they've got Paellardyce. Our top earner it's Harry Kane, theirs isn't even in the squad.

Spurs easily. Top of the table, better players, always finish above them now, better stadium, better supporters, better manager. I could go on.
I don't think there will be any complacency in our approach to the game as we will be up for it, but yes if we go a couple ahead and make it look easy, that's when there may be a danger of complacency. Hopefully we'll have learnt from the West Ham game however.

It’s a pointless debate - Arsenal fans will say their club for a number of reasons, Spurs fans will say their club for a number of reasons and the only thing that will be agreed is that West Ham are the smallest side in London
Ah the Bigger debate.. It’s Arsenal. Their History, the trophies, and global presence, compared to Spurs.

Spurs, imo have been the better club for about 6/7 years.

I suspect we will go a goal up and Jose will strangle the life out of the game knowing how much they struggle to break teams down, we will catch them on the break and either win 2-0 or they will nick a late consolation.
didn't think you'd beat chelsea, a jose bus parking masterclass but surly you'll come out to play arsenal.
they really seem to be firing blanks at the moment.
but knowing jose you will continue to build your most boring team credentials.
