the post match interview Jose and Kane acknowledged that that 2nd half wasnt how we really wanted to play and we can do better. We are a team in development.
Wd can only beat what's in front of us and we are doing so. We will improve further and player better that's for sure.
you also have to accept Jose's pragmatism. At this stage of the season its big games and Europa league so its just the results that count. we can't win anything now but we could easily be out of contention so I'll accept this 100%

Nah you're not.
A lot of people will say this is Jose's way, people that have watched him sparingly from afar without having the feelings of being a fan of a team he's managed, and it's simply not true. He's got the results yes, but this is ultra defensive stuff he's got you doing.
This isn't an anomaly obviously, the classic example is Inter shamelessly shutting out Barcelona in 2010, but on the whole his teams do have more variety than this. Thing I don't get is he's managing you atm as if you're this massive underdog despite the fact when you do break in numbers, and specifically get Kane & Son on the ball, you counter attack almost as well as his Real Madrid team did (IMO the best counter attacking team in Europe the last 10/20 years) so I don't get the negativity - look at what you did to United at OT? If he was managing us, just as a random example, we'd have had similar possession stats but at least twice the attempts on goal in the game probably winning 3-0/4-0.
Personally after the experiences he had at United & in 15/16 I think he's enjoyed the fact he's got a squad atm who are sacrificing their games to do what he wants & loving it, milking it a bit
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t blame him for these tactics one bit.
We were the most attacking team in the league a couple of months ago, beating Utd 6-1, Soton 5-2, Macabi Haifa 7-2. We then went 3-0 up against West Ham, but we know what happened next. We ended the game feeling like we’d lost. We ended the game with 8 points from 5 games, despite all our goals - 15 in those 5 games. No way would we win anything like that, so Jose’s changed the formula. In 6 league games since West Ham, we’ve got 16 points our of 18. 5 clean sheets. Undefeated against Chelsea, City and Arsenal and top of the league for 3 weeks. Now we’re taken seriously and far better off than we were.

But the nature of being a counter attacking team is to invite the opposition onto you and then hit them on the break. It's working too.
-------------------------------------------------------
True, but the numbers you commit to the counter attack defines whether the overall approach is aggressive, defensive or somewhere in between.
When you counter attack aggressively you look really good, so I don't understand why he's not got you doing it more often? Fitness reasons perhaps? Dunno.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
4 vs 2 counter saw us take a 2-0 lead. At 2-0 you don't need to over commit.. Indeed wait until the opposition do in their desperate attempts to get back in it. . Thing is we didnt play well 2nd half vs CFC or Arsenal offensively and this is acknowledged by Jose and players.

I'm happy with the win but wished we could have been more on the front foot in the second half. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. We had 20 something percent possession in that half and were in our half for most of it.

I’m furrrking sick to death of this complaining. Just shut up and enjoy the success your team has.
Some of the comments on this forum does make one question the sanity of people for sure.
Firstly "some people would rather see Spurs play nice football and lose" what true Spurs fan ever wants to see us lose? NONE OF THEM FFS
Jose is king etc and can do no wrong. At the END of the season you may be right but so far you are guessing.
Highlighting how wonderful Jose is because we have played some top teams and done ok. I seem to remember at the end of the first season we got into the CL we were never going to get there because we had chelsea to play, woolwich and city all top teams. Well we won all those games so Harry must also be a genius.
Every Spurs fan in the world is happy at where we are in the league at the moment lets get that straight. The fact that some of us dont like watching us put 10 men behind the ball against the likes of West Brom and Burnley makes it that we would rather see Spurs lose!!!!!
You really could not make it up
One one hand the same posters on here tell us that we probably have the best squad in the prem at the moment and in the next breath they tell us that sitting in our own half for 80 minutes out of 90 is the only way we can play and win something.
A bit strange when we have the best squad in the prem.
They then say "look what happened against West Ham" never thinking for one second that the reason it happened was because we tried to sit in our half for 45 minutes and let them have the ball
None of us are upset at the results, none of us want to be lower down the league and play attractive football but some of us believe that with the players we have we are capable of playing in a bit more adventourus manner.
As a final comment I ask one question. As we only seem to want to attack for 45 minutes, get a 2-0 lead and sit on it why dont we sub Kane and Son at half-time when we are 2-0 up rather than risk further injury?
If you are happy to play that way to me its an ideal solution to protect the most deadly strike force on the planet.
Do people not understand the concept of conserving energy in games that are already won? Winning a title is a marathon not a sprint.
Liverpool were doing the exact same thing last season ffs. Winning games 2-0 or 2-1 and then moving on to the next week.

And I said I was happy didn't I? Nothing wrong with constructive criticism though. We won 2-0 but it wasn't a perfect performance as I was left wanting more from the second half. Unfortunately this has crept into a few of our games, and if this had been a one off I probably wouldn't be complaining at all.
Just try taking your Mourinho pyjamas off for once Wahl and take a more neutral view on things.
Say what you like its torrid to watch, but Jose has won 589, drawn 186 and lost 134 in his 909 games as manager

It’s tiring playing without the ball.

On your last point. Because Kane is a feckin useful additional CB for Spurs in 2nd half of games.
Spot on post though

Do less running with the ball than without it.

Mmm usually but we don't press and have 6 or 7 parked on the edge of our area 2nd half

I'm happy with the win but wished we could have been more on the front foot in the second half. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. We had 20 something percent possession in that half and were in our half for most of it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And you won 2-0! Against arsenal, who are still a big club and deserve some respect.
2-0 win vs Man City 0-0 draw away at Chelsea, 2-0 win vs arsenal
7/9 Points 0 conceded, it’s unreal that there are any complaints. Mourinho could cure every disease in the world and people would ask why he didn’t do it sooner. He could feed every starving kid in the world and people would ask why he didn’t serve dessert. He could give millions to every charity and people would ask why not billions.
I’m furrrking sick to death of this complaining. Just shut up and enjoy the success your team has.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And I said I was happy didn't I? Nothing wrong with constructive criticism though. We won 2-0 but it wasn't a perfect performance as I was left wanting more from the second half. Unfortunately this has crept into a few of our games, and if this had been a one off I probably wouldn't be complaining at all.
Just try taking your Mourinho pyjamas off for once Wahl and take a more neutral view on things.

Say what you like its torrid to watch, but Jose has won 589, drawn 186 and lost 134 in his 909 games as manager
