he was mainly shocking for best part of 3 years for us.
this season in the league, especially the bigger games, he has been nothing short of phenomenal tbf. Capable of commanding the flank, but certainly helped by Sissoko covering and the low block.
no doubt our better RB now. Be interesting though we may need to adapt vs weaker opposition, Palace game will be telling.
Serge over Doherty any day.
Always liked Serge despite his craziness. Glad he is cutting it out. Long may it continue.
Yep, I wanted him replaced in the summer and was delighted to have got Doherty in.
Glad to see he has upped his game and proved me wrong.
Thank God he is playing so well as Doherty looks dreadful.
I wonder if Wolves would have him back?

'Dreadful' is a bit of an exaggeration, no?
Both him and Sissoko have been excellent recently. Credit to the players and Jose for these superb performances.

I've been totally underwhelmed by him so I kept a close eye on him during the LASK game to see if I was missing something and he was worse than I thought.
He looks bereft of confidence and must have had a pass completion rate of about 10%.
Been quality in all the big games this season. He’s been surprisingly error free.
Played very well at the moment I will give him that
I have always rated him.
Some of our supporters were on his back on everything he did. I prefer to give all our players a chance.
Same thing happened with Mo Sissoko.

I think Doherty will be OK, but only as a squad player. I certainly will not be getting on his back.
It's like Danny Rose all over again. He used to be hated then loved then hated. So we are at stage 2 right now.

Until Doherty starts playing excellently a few years from now. I guess it pays to give these players time.
Well played Aurier for turning his form around and getting to a degree of reliability I didn't think he could reach. Jose obviously has had a big helping hand in sorting him and the rest of the defence out too.

You could say the same about some supporters being on Trippier's back all the time, ahem.

Sissoko has his purpose in the big games though. When he starts vs Palace i think we will see him look poor.

I am pleased for Serge and I hope he keeps it up. He was a bit of a liability up until the summer, receiving silly red cards cvs giving away needless penalties, though obviously he had to deal with the terrible tragedy of his brother’s death.
been very good defensively

I hope Doherty turns out to be a better player than he's shown so far but I fear he may be one of those who was more comfortable being a big fish in a small pool.
That said I've always thought Aurier was a decent player who made too many mistakes and if Dohertys arrival is the reason that he's now more reliable then it makes his signing more worthwhile.

Neither was Aurier until recently under Mourinho. Trippier must have something about him himself to have been wanted by Simeone. Might end up winning a title this season.
