If pragmatism has earned Mourinho 5x the number of trophies than Klopp has, then I’m all for it.

Each to their own, but it’s f*cking boring football, and we all know it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, what I know is the 2 goals we scored in the NLD will be something to remember. Arteta’s possession football and zero goals wouldn’t be. If you’d rather it be the other way around, then as you say, each to their own.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re acting like we’ve never beaten Arsenal before.

Spurs score a lot of goals because of their style, but their style is still boring as fack. Parking the bus and counterattacking is a bit borinh tbh and has caught teams off guard. Teams will suss it out to some extent soon.

Liverpool sat deep in the CL final and conceded possession, which Spurs enjoyed having large amount of. Do you remember that? No! Why? It doesn't matter. Results matter!
Winning games matter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's justified if you have a one goal lead in a Champions League final.
Having it as your general game plan is not the same thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As the article shows, 49 goals in 20 games is hardly sitting on a 1-0 lead. Simple maths shows we’d have 20 goals, not 49, if that was the case
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So all your games have been Champions League finals?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You do, I (and others) don’t, no problem, it is what it is.
Sandy, I don't think the fact that we're currently playing boring football is even in question at the moment. Of course we are. It's impossible to when you only have about 30% possession. Goals aren't the measure of the aesthetics of a football game. It's more than that.
Having said that, and I think I speak for most spurs fans that aren't particularly enjoying the style right now, I don't care as long as we're winning. Currently we're doing well so I have no problem with it. One thing I will say for stylish football is that it allows you the odd defeat without the fans grumbling. If the wins dry up and we're still playing low block football, I don't think it will take long for the knives to come out. If we're gonna play like this, we absolutely 100% have to win something this season.
My only worry about this style is that we'll have to change the way we play depending on our opponents and that breeds inconsistency in performances. Based on our recent results against the bigger teams I think the team will find it hard to switch off from the low block breaking style when we face Crystal Palace. Does that wash? Against Palace? Hmmm. I'm not so sure. It's very hard to play low block one week and then dominate the ball the next. I'd prefer to be one of those teams that has an identity, a way of playing that's uncompromising, no matter the opponent. That said, we're top so I can't complain. As it is, I'll absolutely take the football we're playing.
In response to your article, I think those numbers are a little unfair as we've played a bunch of part timers in the EL that would have boosted that stat.

In the Prem we've scored 23 goals which is still a good return but it's 3rd on the list behind Chelsea and Liverpool. When you factor in that 11 of those goals were scored in only 2 freak fixtures that means that in the other 9 fixtures we've managed to hit 12 goals which is 1.3 goals a game, which isn't so hot.
If you play with 4 at the back with Hojbjerg and Sissoko tucking in to create a 6 out of possession then it's not surprising that it's hit our scoring stats of late. Having said that we've got the best defence in the league so it's not affected points on the board but to say we're the free flowing, goals galore entertainers of the league is stretching the truth to put it mildly.

I am enjoying every minue of this season. And you are being very selective in your picking saying Spurs are only scoring goals against part timers.
What about the six past United, the five past Southampton, the three past West Ham, the two past both City and Arsenal without reply, or don`t they actually count.
Spurs have shown they are very capable of changing their game, depending on who they play. As I said earlier in the week, I expect Spurs to give a few sides a right tonking as the season progresses. Free from the shackles of having to play Europa League for a couple of months, I expect Spurs to be very much play on the front foot going forward, especially against the lesser sides.
I hate the way some supporters are saying if the wins dry up, the knives will come out. I see absolute no sign of the wins drying up, and why should they. Is their any evidence to say Spurs will not keep winning games. I don`t think so. So why are supporters worried.
Just enjoy the season. When was the last time Spurs sat top of the league for longer than a nano second?
How anybody can have anything negative to say right now, is absolutely beyond me.
Only Spurs supporters can still moan from the lofty position of being top of the Prem.

It's hardly a surprise you've scored the most goals in all comps given you've played the most games, and have played about 10 of them against Eastern European farmers.
I'd be worried if you didn't have the most goals in that situation.

Remind me who Liverpool are playing tonight. Midtyjylland, a team of Danish goatherders.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You also have to factor in that Spurs have had the harder fixture list, playing four of the so called big six already, with only Liverpool left to play.
And anyway I think you are forgetting the most important thing, the Prem is not actually won on goals scored, but points won. The goals are just a bonus.
The article is merely pointing out that a team that has scored 49 goals is anything but boring.
The style which yielded 7 points from the City, Chelsea and Arsenal games may not win any prizes for entertainment but it got the job done. Boredom was the last thing on my mind when I was on the edge of my seat during the three games.
I believe we will see a far more dominant Spurs (in terms of the stats) against Antwerp and Palace and hopefully the right results as well.

Spurs had 23 shots and 12 on target vs Newcastle.....conservative indeed
One of our core values, and something that Levy is very demanding of, is that we play fast, attractive, attacking football. Sure, we're top now and are still in competitions and everyone is happy. However, fans will quickly turn after a few loses...

We had a completely different 11 to the weekend and was already qualified. had two players who hadn't even played a game this season.

Well going forward perhaps your squad is not as good as you think it is. Afterall you already lost to Spurs in a domestic competition.

The same Midtyjylland who beat Ludogorets in CL qualifiers?

Playing conservatively in prem games against the likes of Brighton and Newcastle is not the same as defending a lead in a Champions league final.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs had 23 shots and 12 on target vs Newcastle.....conservative indeed

One of our core values, and something that Levy is very demanding of, is that we play fast, attractive, attacking football. Sure, we're top now and are still in competitions and everyone is happy. However, fans will quickly turn after a few loses...
