Disagree. I don’t get people’s obsession with wanting to see underdogs get far into competition for them to inevitably get trashed on by one of the best teams in Europe. Regardless, in last few years there have been many teams getting to semi finals at least who you wouldn’t have expected. All the drama you mentioned about last minute winners, controversy, unlikely heroes etc. doesn’t randomly disappear because good teams are playing against each other đ For the last 3-4 years especially there have been many dramatic comebacks and controversy in the CL.
The lowest ranked as in the team who finishes the lowest in the table of the lowest coefficient ranked in Europe? Sorry it's probably me being thick.
I don't agree with that though, you should earn your place in Europe, not just get it by virtue of being a big club. I'm all for seeing the best teams in the best competition, but you have to earn your place in that competition at the end of the day.
Ok, I don't really want to see your Maribor's get slapped by 7 nearly every week because that's as boring as seeing the best teams in it every year imo, but there has to be some balance. Just basically giving teams an invite takes away the purpose of qualifying which has been a staple of European football.
Create a European Super League for that I say.

I know it'll never happen but with the introduction of the third European competition I'd just have a maximum of two clubs from each country in each comp.
Spread the money out a bit more evenly and create a real interest in all three comps again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That would be great. No more focusing on getting top 4, and would force the Glazers to get things right (or leave), if only top 2 make CL where the bigger money would be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't have it as the top two clubs in the Prem. I'd make it so the Champions and winners of the major domestic cup qualify. You have to be the champions of something to get into the Champions League.
You can have a separate European competition for clubs who qualify for Europe by other means; which winning qualifies for the Champions League. It would create more of an interest in the domestic competitions again and make finishing 4th in the league less of a reward.

The fun has been dragged out of it, for me.
As a neutral, I’m probably more interested in watching the FA Cup than I am the later stages of the Champions League now.
Two squads of 25 multimillionaire superstars playing each other *yet again*. The players know each others’ games better than those of others in their national leagues. It’s repetitive.

I wouldn't be against the winners of the FA Cup getting a place in the CL although I presume it would revert to the PL positions if the FA Cup winners also won the league.
I know some people say that would dilute the CL but having an opportunity to go into a cup competition via a cup competition is OK by me. Not sure what happens with the third Euro comp though in this scenario.
I can't believe they are having a third tier of European football...the 2nd level is pretty turgid as it is, - so who qualifies & when do they play
I don't think we need a third European competition.
My idea of a European Super League would be for all teams to be included and would be financially sound with no obvious disasters on the horizon whatsoever.
Malaga against Ross County at a random/neutral European ground somewhere around Belgrade.
Mouthwatering prospect
92 PL and EFL team
42 Scotland
100 Italy
42 Spain
56 Germany
36 Portugal
That's 368 teams without taking into account all the other countries so we may as well double it and call it 800 teams = 400 randomised matches = 57 matches per day.
No points for winning, no relegation or promotion. Certainly 0 fans and no need as all matches will be played at random grounds well away from where teams are from (minimum of 1000 miles).
Graeme Souness, Kenny Dalgish and Gordon Strachan to conduct pre and post match analysis on every single game all which will be LIVE on Sky Sports, BT Sport, Facebook, Amazon, Youtube, Disney+, MySpace, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat and MSN Messenger.
Gary Lineker's stint at MotD comes to an end and he will be replaced with Robbie from AFTV. Ryland will be second in command and Jimmy Hill will be exhumed and displayed in the cabinet that was used by Tottenham for all the trophies that never materialised.
FA Cup winners, CL place. League Cup winners, EL place. Should be that simple really. 3 qualify for the CL through the league and 2 in the EL via 5th and 6th.
