if we stick to major trophies only - ie league, CL - klopp is a country mile behind the others, not even in the same conversation:
SAF 18
pep and jose 10
klopp 4
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That doesn't even address what Fergie did at Aberdeen either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
actually i did throw in the 3 league titles in scotland, but it does ignore the cup winners cup SAF won at aberdeen and at united.
if we include everything klopp has 5 meaningful trophies in his career - the 4 big ones and a single german cup - whereas SAF has 34 (!)

The Cup Winners Cup with Aberdeen is definitely worth noting given it was a very unfavoured side. One of Fergie's best achievements of his career.

Only 2 managers have won the PL and CL with a PL club
Ferguson and Klopp - the latter taking just 4 full seasons to achieve it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
it was always gonna take longer than fergie to win it than klopp.... you lot got us banned from europe remember
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ban was lifted in 90-91 season so still took Ferguson double the amount of time it took Jurgen
----------------------------------------------------------------------
things were slightly different back then though

You wouldn't have even qualified even if there wasn't ban.
Know your history
Ferguson sweeps the rest away as it stands. Did it for so long and created great side after great side. Nobody better in my lifetime (wasn't around for the likes of Busby, Paisley, Shanks).
Need to go shower after saying that...
Wenger should also be in the conversation here tbh, moreso for what he did for the English game, dragging it kicking and screaming into the modern era.
Ferguson
Mourinho
Guardiola
Klopp
Jose
Klopp took a team from mid table mediocrity to English, European and world champions. Won a PL title that we waited years for and has built a genuinely great team.
97 then 99 points, winning the CL in the first season is staggering. We aren't bankrolled by a billionaire either.
Jose was brilliant at Porto, his first Chelsea stint and Inter but since then has declined hugely. If he hadn't, he wouldn't be managing Spurs.

Mourinho
Guardiola

I have more respect for Wenger n Fergie than i ever will for Pep and Mourinho. Dont get me wrong good at what they do but they both stumbled upon Porto/barcas golden generations and then went on to manage teams who literally are the best in their leagues or spend the most money or both. Main reason he joined Spurs i believe is because they still have their golden generation pretty much intact and even still his spurs registered squad still cost more than Liverpools if you include what bale cost Real and vincius. So not exactly underdogs in that respect are they.
Klopps taken over sleeping giants and massive underdogs and overachieved, Wenger n Fergie built a legacy.

Got to laugh at this notion that Pep's a chequebook manager and Klopp has done it all organically.
I mean don't get me wrong he's done fantastic at Liverpool but he was floating around 4th place until he was able to spend £71m on a GK, £75m on a CB and £40m on a CDM to propel him to title and CL glory.
1. Ferguson
2. Jose
3. Pep
4. Klopp
Could change in the next couple of years.

Surely Guardiola is above Klopp? 2 titles vs 1 title
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Two titles and then falled off a cliff while being bankrolled by a country.
One Title and a Champions League. Plus still in the hunt with half a first team missing.
Klopp would have won more trophies than Guardiola has done with City, Liverpool would have won nothing with Guardiola.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Both would have had less success if you swapped the squads. If you don’t know why, either you’ve got a really basic understanding of football or it’s not really the sport or hobby for you.
