Straight forward enough for Rangers, though Utd did put up a decent first half show.
Surprised like you they didnt commit more going forward in the last 15.
Yes Morelos looks like a red to me, I noticed in the first min he had a petulant nudge on the same player when the ball was running out for a throw.
He has behaved ok in recent times but the lack of goals is perhaps bringing back him bad side.
Back to the game, if Utd defend like that and get Shankland back firing they will do ok this year.
Well deserved yellow for Morelos, seen a red given for that and would have had no complaints.
Dundee United gave us our toughest 45 mins in the first half, stubborn defending and limiting us creating chances. Second half we took control without playing well and United were a bit too passive.
Morelos needs dropped. I've said it constantly for the past couple of months, looks like more people are in agreement now. He's an excellent player to have when he's on form but when it's not happening he's a liability always capable of a moment of madness, his touch is horrendous and often mistaken for a wayward pass. Missing sitter after sitter.
Time for Itten through the middle and Morelos to earn his place back from the bench
Frustrating game.
I agree it was a red, not sure you'd have got anything from the game though, United looked spent in the second half. Admittedly it would have gave you a better chance.
Btw, I appreciate you don't have the biggest squad but surely you have a better option than Connolly
A fair reflection of the game Ivan.
I would have been wanting Morelos sent off too if he was playing against Rangers. After watching Rangers all season in my opinion it wouldn't have affected the final result even after ignoring the penalty claims.
Rangers have a different mentality this year.
We now have different ways of breaking down the 10 man defence teams sometimes use against us.
You probably would have changed tactically if Morelos had been sent off leaving the spaces our players are exploiting this season.
I've never seen the ref having a good game ever. He seems to like the limelight a bit.
I was disappointed in the way we lost the goal. A combination of Kamara not tracking back quick enough and Balogan and Goldson not being aware what was happening behind them. McGregor should have done a lot better too.
Not a game for the purists.
Shankland missed a sitter which may have made a big difference.
I watched the first half and then spent the second half mostly watching the F1 and flicking over. The F1 was utterly dull on a track with very little overtaking possible.
Game would have been over if the ref had given the blatant penalty in the second half.
He had a shocker.

Good summary and I have to say I thought United were our toughest test this season 1st half. Were unlucky to go in at half time behind and should have had a 1 man advantage.
2nd half United looked like they couldn't keep up same pace. Maybe if they had the advantage that might not have been the case then who knows.
No consolation to you Ivan but referee decisions possibly caused us points against Hibs so I'm happy to take it back the other way. In previous seasons the "evening out" hasn't happened for us. That said it's a poor reflection that we rely on such arbitrary justice.
People mentioning United's defence but 1st half I actually think you attacked with good pace and intent when possible. If you can find some form for shankland surely goals will come. I can certainly see top 6 for United

Poorest and most boring F1 for a long time, still not long until the new season
Good three points yesterday and never a red card, the ref was spot on

I got frustrated that towards the end of the game any time Benji had the ball, or we had a free kick we took our time taking it, giving Rangers plenty time to get back and organised. It’s little things like that. Thought we gave away too many free kicks around the box. That said I was fearing much worse before the match, and whilst I wouldn’t ever “settle” for losing - the realist in me knows it could have been a different story!
We’re desperately in need of a midfielder who can pass the ball through to our front two. Any word on when Chalmers is due back?
With The Rangers (est. 2012) in deep financial mire it's obvious the refs have been instructed that they must win the league this season and will give them every decision they possibly can.
It's certainly more believable than the referee being so incompetent that he missed the clear assault by Morelos. Someone that inept wouldn't be able to tie their shoes or even stand up straight.
Decent performance, but what can you expect when it's not a fair fight?
