Yeah it's awful mate. He was a really top manager for you and I think Liverpool owe a lot to him. By the time he left, things had turned sour but he left you in the UCL and remember what happened?

Oh mate sorry about that! My bad, I thought you were trying to troll his passing. I've just seen you are a big Liverpool fan. Apologies!

First memory watching football was the 2000/01 season. Dragged us out of the 1990s with some incredible cup wins. RIP Gerard

It tells you how good he was that by 2004, a top 4 finish was considered 'no longer good enough' by your fan base. Prior to him joining, UCL football was non-existent at Anfield.
The gary mac signing was inspirational. That free kick versus everton led us to the qay to win the treble of cups.
I loved houlliers enthusiasm.

Couldn’t agree more. McAllisters free kick that scored the goal that won the game that won the trophy. Wow.

Yeah very sad today cause of it, I was 18 when we won the treble under him, arguably still my favourite season ever.

Carragher lists it above Istanbul as his favourite memory you know.
Always liked Houllier.
RIP
Seemed a great great bloke and was a great coach. Very sad RIP
Gutted - yet another person from the football era I grew up in.
Very, very sad
RIP
He had 3 wins at OT when before he came we were getting spanked. Those were much needed bragging rights when growing up.
Gutted! My uncle let me use his season ticket in 99/00 and got some boss memories along the way. RIP Gerard 🌹
The UEFA final against Alavés is stuck in my mind as one of the most exciting games I've ever seen. I was rooting for Alavés almost as if they were my own club, so the way it all ended had a kind of Greek tragedy taste to it. Mind you, rather than diminish its romantic appeal, I think it actually increased it.
The man who was our manager as i was just becoming properly addicted to football at a young age. I’ll never forget those times.
RIP Gerard
GH was the guy who brought professionalism within the club and qualifying for the CL was the springboard to the success we had later in the CL.
A great man - Henchoz and Hyypia brought together was inspirational - who would have thought they would become the defensive unit they did! And Mac was another inspirational signing - who would have thought he would influence the team as much as he did.
RIP to a true Liverpool legend YNWA
Buying Rigobert Song.. so that he could try the impossible in defend the maverick Fowler by saying he was just emulating Rigobert Song eating grass in training.
Allez, Allez Gerard Houllier rest in piece.
Glad we were able to give him a great reception when he came with Villa.
Top man.
