It’s the flaw in the xg measure though. You guys have consistently overachieved against it for a while because of the brilliance of Mane and Salah in particular. It’s why both managers will feel they deserved the win though.

Quite. To me, that game showed you were title contenders this year, whatever Mourinho says to try and play it down and however people try and perceive the approach.
Personally, I’m not a fan of it but it’s always been effective with the right squad and the right coach and you’re very very close to it, enough to be challenging this year given the deficiencies in others.
Oh he knows we have a chance.
We’re 3 points off top after 13 games and 5 of those 13 games have been Liverpool, Chelsea and United away and City and Arsenal at home. (Say what you like about arsenal’s form - that’s the NLD, never easy).
