No he was on a slippery slope glad that Cantt got the boot!!!
And main thing with Arsene is he never publicly attacked his players and never were disputes inside changing room. In Arteta's time is like a spanish telenovela.

Thats out of order given what he did for our club , his later years may not have been so good but they have to be viewed in the context of the new stadium and the owners reluctance to invest. Arsene was a class act and he probably did stay on for two years too many , but whatever happened the guy deserves our respect.

Arsenal became dictatorial at the end, holding the club to ransom.
While his place in the club’s history cannot be questioned, a part of the mess we see today is attributable to the Frenchman.
We were in terminal decline under Wenger, we were in a really bad state when he left. Yes it has got worse because part of the Wenger era put in place so many useless people at the top of the club - the fact that he hasn’t been a Manager since he left tells its own story.

What story does it tell? That he started to appreciate his break from Management so decided to keep it that way? Or are you saying you know for sure no clubs contacted him?

Sanlehi and the other caants came after Wenger left.
Those caants bought Pepe for 72m.
Wenger had a policy of not giving big contracts to players above 30. Now you have Willian and Luiz stealing money. Who gave them these longterm contracts Edu or Sanlehi?
Wenger played one touch football. You have never ever played this kind of football before him or after him.

Yes you did op. Next question
As tempting as it is to romanticise the past in times like this, the answer to this article is no.
I doubt we would be where we are, I acknowledge that. But things under wenger were stale and going backwards. The turning point was losing the league to Leicester! It was a one horse race at Christmas, then two, then three, then Leicester vs. Tottenham then arsenal amazing come back to claim 2nd.
The game moved on, Klopp and Guardiola* moved the game and even dinos like mourinho... hell even Hodgson Adapted. It’s like wenger just refused to adapt. No plan B, ever! Didn’t press like the teams who were winning titles, same deficiencies as we had in 2007!
It has to change.

Well at least I'm willing to admit that, most on here won't
Luiz tbh was only given 1 year extension which he actually deserved. Giving Willian 3 years was criminal.
I said at the time, "be careful what you wish for".
Wenger was big part of this problem. But Stan needs to sort it out. Up there with Mike Ashley as the worst owner around
