I'm in Osnabrück, came here with the Army in 82, met a German lass and been here ever sinse!..
Great day for you's, crap for us, but whatever, our team that the Legendary Bielsa has dragged up isn't as bad as some think!.
..........................
I have been there a few times. Good old BFPO 36. First visit was in 1977 when I was in the JLR RE.
And a few times during the late 80's mostly football related.
It was a good day but from a football purist I don't like seeing defending (from both sides) like that.
My old man and a couple of my uncles were Royal Engineers. I think Dad started in the 17/21 Lancers (my Grandad's regiment). My old man and uncle Alan did their 22, both finishing as WOs. Uncle Jack spent most of his time peeling potatoes and oscillating between the corporal ranks. Always thought he must have been the inspiration for Walker in Dad's Army. Later blagged his way into being a very competent Catering Manager at a public school in Oxfordshire by telling them he had been in the RE Catering Corps. Sort of true considering the number of potatoes he must have peeled.
The real United vs Leeds
