Incredibly brave and incredibly naive to come and play right into our hands like that.
---
I've seen and heard this comment 'naive' a lot. Bielsa isn't naive, he's a manager with 30 years experience. He knows, and Leeds know, that this result can happen because we are playing against teams with vastly better players than us.
People can talk about the system and how open Leeds play, but that wasn't why we lost today. We lost because we made mistakes and because we didn't take our chances and Man Utd did. Crystal Palace set up defensively and got hit for 7 by Liverpool. Burnley set up defensively and got hit for 5 by Man City, as they do every year.
This system does give the opposition space, but it also created us 5/6 good chances in a game away from home against a top 4 team. We could set up to play for a 0-0 and still get hit for 6.
At the end of the day, does it matter that Leeds lost 6-2 and played open, attacking, exciting football that created a ton of chances for both teams or if we played 10 behind the ball and lost 3-0? Which gives you the better chance to win the game?

Was embarrassing to watch Rashford dive for a pen, at 5-1 up. Nothing new under sun, though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Get to SpecSavers it was Martial and it was a pen
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it wasn't. You can argue it was but neither the Ref nor VAR gave it.
I thought you were great in flashes, and Dallas' goal was a cracker.
I love your openness and positivity, but you're really easy to play against. It's what got Ardiles the sack at Spurs, sadly, and his team was even more entertaining

but you're really easy to play against

Every opposition manager and player interviewed after our games seems to say otherwise.
Man Utd were great and got their tactics spot on, but Leeds scored twice and created some other really good chances. To say we are easy to play against ignores that we caused your defence a lot of problems.

Unlucky today lads, gotta love the way Leeds play and unfortunately you’re gonna get a result against you like this from time to time.
Hang in there lads and beat the teams around you. 👍
The xg was 4-2 which considering there was a penalty in that, the comments saying they should have had 10 comments are a bit wide of the mark.
Whenever anyone dishes out a pasting it’s usually the case that they’ve scored more than expected from their chances. They had plenty of chances late in the game but this game hinged on them scoring from 4 of their first 6 shots, at that time we’d had the same number of shots and probably the half’s clearest chance and scored 0.
Goals change games, we gave a side that can’t score at home a free 2 goal start. Surprise surprise their world class players start pinging it about... and we start throwing even more men forward and then try too hard to make the killer pass and give the ball away more. The psychology of team sports in a nutshell.
Well beaten by the better and more clinical team on the day. No excuses. The strengths we have were evident, the weaknesses we have very evident. We learnt nothing new here. I’m more p1ssed that we still can’t defend set pieces.
Losing possession is the key for us. We totally lose our shape when it happens.
Apparently Raphina lost possession 36 times today ... starting off with the first goal. But he wasn’t the only one. Rodrigo seemed to lose the ball a lot too. Not sure if it’s just a ‘new boy’ thing or not.
Be interesting to see how many times in total we lost possession. But then again the better teams are going to force those errors.
Again, be interesting to see the lost possession stats agains the like of Manx C and Liverpool, and against Leicester, Palace etc.
Interesting that Bielsa said that we didn’t ‘return’ good enough... I noticed a few times how we didn’t track back as well as we usually do..Dallas & Philips especially.
Red - I can sense you are a person of quality.
Respect😁👍💙

Forgetting the partisan stuff, I thought you'd press so well you'd cut off the supply to our forwards, but we just bypassed your midfield mostly, either with a couple of one touch passes, or by just beating their man.
I'm not calling you a bad team, I actually thought you'd beat us from the few times I've watched you this season like the Liverpool game. On the front foot you look great, just that I don't think we're a particularly great team (we had a few if your regular posters calling us a laughing stock this week), and we cut you to ribbons. Maybe you had an off day.

Was going to make the same comment - Much as I like Raphinha and Rodrigo, they’re part of the problem at the moment. They do some great stuff, but they try too much for how this team plays. The back heels and flicks look great when they come off, but we can’t afford to concede possession when they don’t - I feel they have a forwards mentality wherever they are on the pitch, and lack the judgement or system understanding at the moment to know when to play simple and when not.
Have now been to Specsavers, and it was Martial and not Rashford to dive for the pen, true.
Wa it a pen, though? Never.
The one on James, yes. I suspect the ref knew he made an error on that one, and so gave the 2nd one. Just waiting for a chance to make the error up, so Ole wasn't too upset with him

I don't think our defensive and midfield play in terms of bringing ball forwards was best today, but you did a great job of intercepting play and quality of your passing and forward movement was too good for our defence...our defence isn't all that at the moment, but it was fair play to you.
I thought with our away form and your home form it would be more of a match but it was a fair result and this is a season of strange scorelines, but a fair result which wasn't spoilt by stupid tackles and cards.

yep.. agree with that.
tough pill to swallow to times, but yeah, spot on
It will be dissected by Bielsa.
First goal, Raph loses the ball too easy. Klich loses his man. 1-0.
Second, Rodrigo gives ball away. Klich loses his man. 2-0.
Third, sloppy pass from Bamford. Corner results. Kalvin loses his man. 3-0.
Too many times we gave away silly possession. Klich was rightly subbed at HT as he was ball watching too many times. He needs a rest I think.
Having said that we played well at times going forward and should have scored 4 or 5 ourselves.
So some positives out of that.
We move on but must learn from this. Concentrate for 95 or whatever minutes we play.
