OP, the numbers may well be the same, I don't know, I haven't checked. But I think that you are overlooking the fact that COVID isn't (in the main) killing people if they don't have underlying illnesses. Most of the people that are dying due to CVOID would have died anyway, but the CVOID has hastened their demise. And in some instances it has taken the lives of those that would have recovered from their illnesses.
So although the overall number of deaths may not have risen (assuming your numbers are correct), they are occurring sooner then they otherwise would have.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
right so if these 2000 people had their deaths hastened as you say.
where is the missing 2000 who would've died on average anyway?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Erm? What? They just died sooner.

so according to your stats
the us is on track to lose an extra 300k this year.
a 1% increase in a country where 3% of the population moved into the 80+ range in an aging country.
that supports your argument how?
Lahey sit down and shut up or give us links to the information you are using.
You won't because you'll get crucified.
Poor Jim, already shifting the goalposts..
1st it was that there were no extra deaths.
Now it is that there are a shiittt ton of extra deaths, but that is due to a shift in average age.
a 1% increase in a country where 3% of the population moved into the 80+ range in an aging country.
--------------------
So this was a one off 3% shift, was it?
I'm no analyst, but I imagine that as that 3% go into their 80s, a very similar figure die of age related illness from the years before doing something very similar... balancing the numbers by quite a bit.
But you're the expert, post your findings.
Maybe 1940 was an especially horny year in USA?
Can’t wait to see Jim’s ‘research’.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
In 2018, the most recent year with official death estimates, 2,839,205 Americans died.
An extra 300k would be a more than 10% increase, not a 1% increase.
How this guy didn't win сunt of the year is beyond me.
I honestly hope, and I mean this:
everyone of you who believes the lockdowns and such are needed, to protect the the over 80s who make up 90% of hospitalizations, or those with severe illnesses on death door who make up 95% deaths (google these yourselves lazy fvckwits):
I hope you lose your job
I hope you cant pay your mortgage
I hope the stress of not being able to send your kids to school ends your marriage
and I don't hope this but just think that someone close to you with a real disease, or suspected, cant get access to actual healthcare to protect the aforementioned.
it is very clear from this elitist attitude on here you mopes aren't feeling the effects of the tragedy that this flu is causing on normal people who have literally nothing to fear.
in April, the US lost 2000 people to covid a day, in December guess what, 2000.
18m people diagnosed, CDC believes it may be a much as 10x (again easy to google). 180m may have caught it, 360000 died. look at that death rate,
countries have been destroyed. livelihoods destroyed.
yet marxists like Rosso living in Europes third world want to get on their high horse and spout their nonsense while he spends 1 euro for a liter of superbock. like most tax avoiders he still has Britain in his heart.
but sure go ahead, give me your worst, stay at home, fearing that your terminally ill relative might die because you give them the flu, but don't protest against Marlboro or Stella or McDonalds who arguably put them in that position.
sad how pathetic you really are.
Nd they aren’t “my” stats.
They’re the CDC’s own.
