I think Werner and Pulisic can work together, just not as wingers
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would like it to happen but I'm not sure you fit them both in.

Werner is ideally a second striker, so unless we switch a 442, then I'm not sure there is a formation which works for both.

Jorginho is crap at penalties

Kovacic and Jorginho are garbage

We suit 3 at the back better

Gilmour should be starting every game as should Hudson Odoi - as evidenced by Arsenal young hungry players are still much better than “experienced” hasbeens

Werner should only be played up front

Abraham is quite possibly the least talented striker I’ve ever seen, has zero to his game apart from close distance finishing

"Kovacic is a squad/auxiliary player"

"Kovacic is more important than any other midfielder in our squad"

Now go fight!

Bang on with hazard

Roman hasn’t become more patient, and will have no hesitation in sacking Lampard and bringing in a manager that will get instant results.

1) Lampard overall has shown that he is quite the conservative manager when it comes to tactics and style of play. His inexperience and tendencies to play the youth, cover over the fact that his philosophy is actually just pragmatism. It's made it hard to pin down what the identity is - some of it is quite old fashioned (particularly the reliance on crossing), whilst he has been happy to incorporate more modern ideas. This balance has worked at times, but at it's worst it is stale and boring to watch_
—--------------------------

This actually shows that Lampard is learning. Rightly criticised for his naivity last season, he has shown he is no longer going to get mugged of by teams like United and Spurs. His tactics agst Spurs were spot on and embarrassed Pep who had fallen for the Jose sucker punch only the week before.

It is never great when you lionise a 0-0 draw where Jose got what he wanted..

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jose got what he wanted agst City, not against us.

And there is a difference between lionising tactics and lionising the result.

I don’t really see how it embarrasses Pep, to be honest. The difference is individual quality and, or mistakes, from the players. It’s the fine lines that decide the game when you play against a Mourinho team. Chelsea’s approach to the game wasn’t massively different from City’s, they just weren’t punished.

The idea we were lucky as balls throughout most of the 2012 run isn't that unpopular. Among non-Chelsea fans it's a concrete fact.

I don’t want a fight but it seems as though people are going through acrobatics to defend Lampard’s shortcomings, I love the guy but he just isn’t close to being good enough as a manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am not defending him per se. I just have a response to point 1 from the OP.

And is it possible that you are going through acrobatics to find fault in Lampard in everything?

It sometimes comes across that way to me.

If anything I think the conservative approach is more because he has too, just because the expectations are far greater.

And with all being said, i just don't like the look of our style of football or tactics. It's often really uninspired.

More bad performances than good, no argument from me on that score.

Enjoyed Palace, Burnley, Sheff United and Sevilla away.

Respected, but did not enjoy Spurs.

Rest of the games meh
