Good! I like the idea of having former successful players working behind the scenes. I've read this morning Giggs and Keane have been in and around the squad recently as well. It worked for Bayern and I think its good to have players who have won it all to set the standards.
All based on nostalgia cause he played for the club just an overrated PE teacher's assistant get Poch's coaching staff in now
Isn’t Giggsy up on a charge for assault or has it been dropped?

I thought De Gea had a bit of a shiner.
McTom is gonna turn into prime Zizou now, can’t wait
Is he still shiittting up the place?

harsh, but
Another culture orientated appointment it seems. Thats all well and good but at some point we should start hiring coaches based on other criteria such as tactics, style of play or coaching credentials.

I’ll have you know he’s a dab hand with an iPad and a folder full of diagrams
i like fletcher, and he always comes across as intelligent and perceptive when working as a tv analyst. no real surprise to see him end up in coaching.
that said, it's a fairly swift promotion for someone who spent 3 months with the U-16s, and was linked with the fabled DOF position last year.
Another apprentice, how nice.
Who's the bookies favourite ex player to join our staff next?
Van De Beek even further down the pecking order now too.
I don't think anybody should be making any serious comments about what effect this may or may not have on our coaching methods until they have at least looked at Barry Smith's Scottishness Index.
Brilliant first team coach now we have signed him. Glorified workhorse as a player and inexperienced as a coach if we let him go. I have never seen him coach.
The Big Interview with Graham Hunter.
Talks a good game.

Hopefully a good addition

We should only start doing so if what Ole is doing is failing.
Who knows, maybe fletch is a decent coach?
If the culture orientated appointments keep seeing our squats mentality and results improve, then great.
I'd rather have an ex-player on the coaching staff, who has won it all and knows what is it to be a successful team, than someone who studied coaching but never played at the top level. Particularly in the case of someone like Fletcher, who is the epitome of fulfilled potential. Fletcher is another in the mould of Neville. Average ability, elite mentality.
Think of what someone like McTominay can learn from Fletcher.
Great move for Fletch
Hopefully he rediscovers his form. Will be pivotal.
if i remember rightly, his methods are a little unorthodox, but he does get results:

He`ll settle right in alongside the likes of, Moss, Oliver, Taylor, Kavanagh, Madley etc etc
I would rather see us appoint someone to coach the defence. And t doesn’t need to be an ex player.
Just someone who knows how to coach defending. Someone like the current Scotland manager.
