To be fair if they do end it now, with clubs having 19/20 games to go, it should be null and void, it’s not like March with just 9/10 games to go.

I suspect though, it’d just be postponed until May and then summer football it’s Euro 2020, pushed out again. Or clubs having to play without the players at the tournament.

Either way, both governments have caused this mess, they’ve handled this virus as I’d expect them too, with no sense of intelligence anywhere.

I doubt they’ll stop football either up here or in England now. The actual rate of infection has slowed quite considerably-and thats before the effect of the current lockdown kick in. The issue now is the knock in effect from those that are infected needing hospital treatment, then ICU, and then unfortunately the deaths that are going to follow.

Our league is done and dusted in any case.

On the whole the adherence to the Covid protocols have worked (a few notable exceptions aside)

The rates of infections from players and staff are way below the national averages.

Unless that changes we should keep playing the games (I was of the same opinion last season too)

To paraphrase Neil Warnock - I need ‘summit’ to look forward to, even if my team gets beat it’s a real emotion and a distraction from the awful situation outside.

I need footy more than ever now.

Construction sites will be first to close, as soon as they close sport will quickly follow IMO.

it matters to me regardless of the “new variant”

Of course it matters

It just matters a lot less than peoples lives and quality of life and i was very vocal about this before the season began.

The scottish cup final was pash and as good as it was to win the 'quadruple treble' i bet that nobody really cared as much as they wished.

Its unfortunate but its the way of the world just now
