You’ve got to question why we are seemingly happy to not sign a centre back in this window. Klopp clearly doesn’t trust Williams or Phillips at all.

If he isnt 100% we cant risk him. Its looking almost certain the club are not buying in this wimdow so he needs to remain fit. No point him missing the next 4 or 5 due to being rushed back here.

Id rather we got him fully fit so he could come back for 3 then go out with a new niggle.

I will keep saying this til the end of the month , irrespective of the result today , if we don’t but a CB in the next 2 weeks we won’t win anything this season . I don’t accept the lack of funds as we can but a competent CB for £20m -

No he isn't, I don't think he's so stupid that he'd play Henderson in defence to prove a point to FSG.

Also, he did it 3(?) weeks ago. I actually think Klopp is happy with what we've got, not sure if that worries me or makes me feel more confident.

We won't win the title without signing a CB. United have a much better chance than we do.

We won't sign a player for the sake of it. If its a player that is part of our long term plans we would do it... if not, we won't.

For the sake of it .

Our biggest game for about a year and we play 2 central midfielders in defence but signing a proper CB would be 'for the sake of it'. Come on GT.

United to score at least 2 today. Only 2 actual defenders in defence and only one of those defenders playing well.

It's certainly a gamble. Which might prove to be a costly one.

Southampton had no problem opening us up with the same back four and Thiago holding. Hopefully they've sorted it on the training pitch.

There are enough good defenders in the French league for 15-20m. Leipzig and Salzburg bought Upamecano and Konate from that league.

Don’t agree , we only have 2 CB , can’t include matip as he’s not reliable , we need another . To be honest should never have sold lovren and I wasn’t his biggest fan

Could buy one from the championship for that also

He’s not doing it to send a message, but it’s pretty obvious he would rather weaken our midfield and play a centre mid there than play Phillips or Williams which speaks volumes.

I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes but if he’s happy about the situation id be amazed. Of course he will never speak about it in public and credit to him for that.

Hopefully VVD could be back soon.
