My gut feeling says he'll survive till the next game at least but that he's fighting an uphill battle now, and unless we far surpass expectations (i.e. mount a serious challenge for the CL) he's out in the summer regardless.

There are those games where you can just feel our managers are done... 1-3 vs. Villa was AVB's, 3-0 vs. United was Scolari's, the scrappy af 1-2 win vs. Cardiff was Sarri's, that game feels like Lampard's

Get in a decent manager to gel a team and a system so we can hit the ground running next season. We have a good base with a tweak here and there - a decent centre back and a true midfield enforcer. Lampard's tactics are just too naive.

Luton on Saturday in the FA cup,is now a HUGE game ! for Frank, and also other certain individuals

The fa cup is irrelevant to any discussion on frank lampard.

Of course winning anything is great.

Since RA arrived only morinho lasted very long 2 full seasons is a good bench mark. As such frank lampard is a dead man walking imo.

Thiago Silva has been in general good for cheslea
Chillwell has been good.
James coming through great.
Mendy a good improvement.

The issue seems to be lampard can't see how to get anything out of the front players etc.

If you have all these players there and can't get a performance there's something wrong. Be it covid impact or whatever. Lampard is at a club where theres no patience for it so he has to be on the block.

Frank should get the time to work on and address the foundations, tactics, conditioning, shortcomings in pre-season with the new players, next season.

This season is skewed.
We're in unprecedented times, coaches/managers have much less time to work on tactical preparations more than ever before.

People are now starting to realise the importance of having a pre-season, without it you've seen freak results (inconsistencies up and down the table).

Deprived of that this season and it's proving to be a key contributing factor in our slump.
There's a reason why managers place emphasis on how important pre-season is, especially managers that have not had new/key players fit & available at disposal for pre-season.

Seeing out his three-year contract (with a view/option to extend) works for me.

Stop with the excuses. Every club didn't have a preseason. The day Rogers plays Vardy on the left wing or Maddison on the right wing is the day his club starts sliding down the table. Frank hasn't been able to make a team just 11 strangers that are good players elsewhere and we're halfway through the league season. I see no signs of progress or flickers of hope that he will improve. Your reply to my comment on Gilmour's fitness and rehab which was an honest assessment was really uncalled for and crying like a child over Jorgihno not to be included (did I mention Jorginho) bear no relativity to my point which was the Leicester game was too much too soon for Billy right now and maybe now you've seen how slick Leicester were in midfield you will get my point. Jorginho's shortcomings and the enormous potential Gilmour has are well known thank you I don't need you to point them out. You deleted posts by Nick, Sheriff and Oscar on your Variety article. Why would you do that ? Were they rude or did you not like their opinion? This is a forum for voicing opinion. Your response in disagreement are OTT and kill the debate.

"Stop with the excuses. Every club didn't have a preseason."

Yep and none of them had to deal with an influx of new players, easier to work with players that you have already been familiar with for years already.
That's my point, simply put.

If you felt my Gilmour comment was 'uncalled for' that's your problem, there wasn't any malicious intent in my Gilmour post.

You mean none of them had a £200m window to benefit them?

I have to admit, that I want and expect Frank to stay to at least the end of the season , but he has to accept a lot (not all), of the blame for the poor performances by the team. These supposedly world class players, need a cohesive and comprehensive tutoring of what he exactly what he wants them to do,this can only be done on the training ground by Frank and his team, maybe it means being mean and ugly with them and upping the intensity of the training. It also means letting them know exactly what system he wants them to play.
I see a lot of confusion amongst certain players and Frank must address this asap.

posted on 20/1/21

The problem is that if he stays till the end of the season, mid-table is all we can expect and then we start next season on the back foot again as any new coach will have get used to England, our players and find a system that suits the team.

We much better getting in a new coach now and giving his the end of this season like a pre-season, finding a system and a way of playing.

Lampard picks the team and tactics. He's been awful!
