Yep; this is the problem.
Every facking game seems to be a must-win game this season
Seriously though, there just aren’t any PL games we can *expect* to be easy anymore. Even the worst teams in the league are well-organised, scrappy and resolute most weeks.
Where does Ole take the gamble and rest Bruno? Can he afford to risk facking the FA Cup or EL off? I don’t really think so.
I'd play VDB deeper and push Pogba forward if we're resting Bruno.
Pogba played there during Ole's first half season and produced similar stats to Bruno. VDB one touch football and how well he plays when in possession would be a huge asset when in transition.

I wouldn't play Bruno v Liverpool. Keep him on the bench of needed. We can put on five subs so we have options for that game both from the start and to finish the game. I'd go for Matic and McT in that game with VDB ahead. I doubt LFC will play their strongest side and I think we have better depth than them at present.

The problem is that we have to change how we play with Pogba at ten.
Ole has found a way to get Pogba into the game when he needs a more disciplined shield, and that’s out on the left.
Another option would be Fred and McT in CM, Pogba left and Beekers at ten.

I agree. He could have easily walked away with 4 attacking returns.
The thing with Fernandes is that his presence makes the opposition scared. That explains why we have gone a year unbeaten away from home in the PL. Before he came our away record I believe was similar to how Chelsea recent record of losing a lot of games or drawing at best with the odd win here and there.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pogba doesn’t have the offensive positional awareness or movement of Bruno. He’s a facing-goal player and not a back-to-goal player; he doesn’t have the quick feet or acceleration of Bruno, and to get value from him playing in AM, you have to do exactly that - play him in (or just in front of) the midfield rather than up on the shoulder as a ten/second striker.
If you’re playing a Fulham, for example, it’s not quite so much of a problem. Bruno was deeper (and a bit wider) quite often today because we had to work to pull them back and forth across the pitch and he could be because our wide forwards didn’t have to work as hard as Martial and Pogba did against Liverpool. Martial spent half of the game tonight as an auxiliary striker alongside Cavani.
But in those games (and it’s most games) where Bruno is playing at least as advanced as the wide forwards and often as a bona fide SS, you won’t get the return from Pogba that you get from Bruno.
Bruno also often leads our situational press. Pogba doesn’t have the acceleration, fanatical desire for the ball or tactical astuteness to do that.
You want Pogba on the ball with time to look up and finesse the passes. You want to leverage the quality of his long passing. You want him to be orchestrating play.
Bruno you can bang balls in to that he will turn around the corner and chase after before you know what’s even happened. He’s spontaneous, incredibly quick-witted and tricky at just a different pace to Pogba.
They’re just very different kinds of player with very different abilities.

His shot sneaks in off the post and Cavani buries his header and people are talking about him putting in a MOTM performance.

Ole partying like it is 1999 again. Crazy that we managed to do it again away from home. I suppose the no fans has helped.

Donny will be class for us by mid next season imo.

Not convinced he will even be at the club mate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No chance we sell him in his first season.

Bruno has a role in the first goal, hit the post, had a very good shot saved and put one on a plate for Cavani that the keeper saved.
It was one of his better games recently and on another day he has a goal and assist to his name.
There was a few sloppy ones again of course, but it was a better game than we've seen in the last two or three.

I agree. He could have easily walked away with 4 attacking returns.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep. I was a bit confused by the comment he didn't have a good game. He was involved in 4 of our best 5 attacks.

That’s what you’re gonna get from Bruno.
His shot sneaks in off the post and Cavani buries his header and people are talking about him putting in a MOTM performance.
