Bit late..
I use to get angry on here when England did this. Not anymore. the batsmen are just not good enough bar Root and sometimes Stokes.
Don Bess shouldnt play for England for a long while. Leach should be only spinner when we play in England.
Can we coax Cook out of retirement?
Who's the last player to come through and establish themselves in this team? The likes of Burns, Pope etc have played the best part of 20 matches now and average around 30. Not good enough.
3 ducks in the last 4 innings for Bairstow. Really glad we brought him back into the fold.
Burns being dropped has been shown to be an idiotic decision. Crawley isn't an opener (yet), especially not in India, and Sibley is in even worse form than Burns. All 3 are on shaky ground but I don't know who would replace any of them.
The top 7 for the home series, at this point, needs to be Burns, Sibley, Crawley, Root, Stokes, Lawrence, Buttler. Pope and Foakes need to go back to Surrey and score some runs. Ideally so do the top 3 (not all for Surrey obviously }, but I don't see who can come in to replace them.
I think it's safe to say this tour has gone down the sheitter after a strong start.

I was ranting all last week in the game while we weren't taking a step or two forward and coming out to the ball we seem to be doing that today...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
...and we've reverted right back to waiting for the ball that's going to get you out again...haven't we
Not that it would make any difference but the decision to be rotating players during a tour to India looks worse by the minute.
The embarrassment of this series might make them think again in the future
No...I won't go attack the ball..i'll wait right in crease...let it turn, then i'll paddle about for it in the general area, & hope I connect for a single & get off strike
yep...that's what i'll do...great plan

Whilst there’s a leg slip there as well..
It's like one of General Melchett's plans in Black adder...
"we'll just do the same thing again...that's the last thing the Germans will expect, & therefore exactly what we'll do"
I cant stand KP but hes right the England players miss an hell of a lot of straight balls.
Dan Lawrence had looked miles better than. Pope in every innings, looks like he knows what he’s doing when defending and attacking

And Foakes looks like he will get more runs over all than Buttler.
He was wrongly dropped last time. and he will be dropped again in the summer to get Buttler into the 11. hes one of the favourites of Root.

I'm biased as an Essex fan, but I feel Lawrence has more potential at international level.
Seems to have the mentality to make the step up.
Imo Pope is a victim of his own success. Crazy first class record and has been hyped up a lot. Probably got thrown in to early and could use a break.
