Educate Stinky will you
Stinky, what you need educated in is the fact that Spurs are arguably playing against the lowest seeded team any team in the PL will face, and we still sold 90% of the tickets on the day. Very impressive if you ask me.
Wheareas City play in the first ever CL fixture and dont even sell that out

You have to realise that Channel 5 did not have the sole rights to the game last night. They had the sole rights to show it in UK, but not abroad.
When i went to India, they show the games that are through Sky over here, through ESPN. As such, Channel 5 would not be responsible, any more than ESPN or whatever other company broadcasts it, to announce the official attendance figures, substitutions, or anything else for that matter, they simply film it & pay a TV company to televise it.
I hope that helps clear the matter up.

Wow, you used to be 12. How you have grown my lil fella!

It didn't realise that European bar owners now try to lure customers in to watch football by showing it on laptops and Xbox's, they always used to show it on nice big TV screen.
Stinky please tell me you're not getting this.. because I find it hard to understand how someone can be so thick?
I hope Stinky is trying to be stupid.
Otherwise I would hate to be his boss!
What am I not getting Methulasah, I'ved lived in Germany and Holland - if you have Sky then you can get BBC, ITV, Channel 4 +5 and anything else you get in the UK.
The Sky (Astra) satellites cover all of Europe, there isn't a mysterious force field covering Lanzarote.
Double
C5 had the rights to the game in the UK, other channels own the rights in other countrys! C5 do not own the rights for the whole of the world
Abe Thudd Simpson, people have Sky systems in everything from campervans to holiday homes all over Europe. I'm sure the majority aren't going to think "I won't watch Spurs tonight on my Skybox here in Spain in case a local provider has the broadcasting rights".
I'm sure they don't say that
I'm sure they watch it on whatever provider is showing the game
Boris,
The satelite simply works as a large aerial. But the aerial still needs to transport it from a tv braodcasting company...
Actually do you know what, this is like feeding caviar to pigs. Its not really that difficult to compregend.
If you think Channel 5 were the only broadcaster of the game last night, then you keep thinking that.
Think thats Stinksy is being ignorant on purpose <ok.
Thudd
Me thinks you're dead right.
Stinky doesnt come across as "thick" so i think he's just being damn right awkward & stubborn, where he knows he's in the wrong but wont man-up & admit it.
My dear Ludites, the Astra Footprint covers the whole of Europe - In laymans terms, and you are laymen, that means anyone with a suitable system can recieve any British channel, anywhere in Europe. That's why every Irish/English bar from Prague to Tenerife can show Sky Sports, Channel 5 and even CBeebies for those who want to watch.
Jeez, thank God most of the greatest inventions in the world of technology were made in Manchester and not darn sarf.
does anyone know what happened to harveyhuddlestone ?
So, Channel 5 isn't available in a Sky package or on Freesat.
News to me and every bar owner in Europe

My local has an Irish satellite system and they cannot even get ITV or BBC, let alone channel 5!!
Being Irish I have been to Ireland on many occasions, from Cork in the south to Donegal in the North. Again, you could not get channel 5 in any of the pubs with satellite systems.

Exactly.
Although Boris seems to think you can go anywhere in the world & catch the Eastenders omnibus on their respective terrestrial tele.

I do believe we were talking about SATELLITE TV in Europe.
This has got to be a WUM, I can't believe that you lot are collectively so thick.
Do you honestly think a Skybox (Not Virgin/cable) that works in this country will suddenly pack up when you take it to Spain/France/Anywhere in Europe?
