Absolutely incredible record for 9 seasons as a manager, hard to believe actually.

As hard as it is to admit id still put ferguson down as the greatest given the number of years and number of teams he built that continually dominated but I dont think you will ever see a level of success in such a short space of time that paisley achieved in the game again.

As a scot myself I'm certainly not going to play down the success of stein, I do think the european success of paisley though puts him ahead.

He was a wonderful manager, His record is incredible.
I thought he should have been knighted so always call him Sir Bob.

Yeah. Arguing over greats is a bit meh.

Both were undeniably superb managers in their era and as the most recent post questioned; why they weren’t knighted is beyond me.

In my opinion Bob created the best team(s) this country has ever produced.

Did you know the 1st world war OFFICIALLY was over in 1919 and not 1918...I have my grandparents medal.that shows great war 1914-1919...reason it was official in 1919 was because the final all war ending agreement was signed in 1919.

Small bit of education for you

You wouldn't have seen fans saying PAISLEY OUT back then. Unlike the modern fan

Exactly, some of to-days so called supporters are Trophy hunters they support LFC when they are winning, they soon slag off Manager or players when they lose a couple games as they know they will NEVER be in there position.

Three fantastic, world-class managers. Medals, cups, trophies-wise, I’d have to put SAF at the top, with Sir Bob a very very close second.

Bob Paisley had the misfortune to follow a legend and as a non Liverpool fan , I always felt he didn't get the credit he deserved. Although ,he probably preferred it that way ,it suited his character

He was a decent manager but you have to remember he took over a great side that was mostly built by Shankly. Steady pair of hands, nothing more and he'll always be in Fergie's shadow.

More through circumstance then, as there was nobody else competing with him in that era.

Only Ron Saunders got the better of him in the league in 1981
