At his best he was shear class. He got a lot of stick over his expensive contract , but it wasn't his fault we gave him such a ridiculous contract and I don't blame him for holding us to it either. I still think it was an error to leave him out of the squads and wish him well in Turkey
It's worth remembering that he stayed when Sanchez left. Yes, he got a huge wage, but he was considered world class at the time and we were desperate not to see a repeat of our best players leave.

Nonsense. That no bids were made does not equate to being unwanted. How many summers have gone by without someone making an offer for Messi?

No, definitely not. He would have got nowhere near £350k a week elsewhere.

It’s worth forgetting you mean. That contract is a massive contribution as to why we are where we are today
At his best he was one of a kind but that was all too rare IMO. But the way Arteta and Arsenal treated him post lockdown was appalling. Forgets about his salary, but that’s no way to treat someone for their values outside of football.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's been treated this way for his values IN football. Ya know that lack of any values like EFFORT, COMMITMENT, LOYALTY, RESPECT (which EVERY player has). All of those values are an integral part of team sport. If he wanted to be a lone warrior beholden to nobody, then he shoulda played feckin tennis not football.
So please stop with your fangirl "It was political" BULL SH !T." NO IT WASN'T it was because he was sh !t and a to his team for 4 years! It really is pathetic the way you adore a man who actually just royally fecked you over as a fan of this club

Not after he started talkin sh !t about China, no. If he'd kept his gob shut (as he should have being good mates with murderous dictator himself), then he could likely have got himself 600k a week no problem.
I bet his agent saw the stuff he posted and was straight on the phione to him "Take it down, take it down, quiick!" as he watched his big fat cheque riding of into the distance

So finally you admited that talking about China had influence on club not wanting to play him. Wow. And btw he got 350k contract long before comments on China.
What he’s saying is that Ozil could have got paid £600k/week by a Chinese club
But even Ozil has more morals than WB2 and I doubt £6m/week would have been enough for him to go there
China have a wage cap and stopped bringing in expensive foreigners ages ago.
Don’t let that distract WB2 from posting novels worth of shiiiiit
Wish WB2 and Bash had their own thread. Or forum.

As far as I knew he was being offered 600k somehow or other, toward the end of 2019. I did see talk of that on here though, I'm sure people were moaning because his agent was saying he wouldn't go even for that much money.
As for me and Bash. Just stop people from posting sh !t about Ozil being great or good for AFC. Trump just showed the world how dangerous disinformation and lies really are

You idiot. Ozil signed contract in 2018.
----------------
I wasn't talking about the contract he signed with Arsenal when I said he lost money running his mouth. I was talking about a potential contract upon leaving Arsenal...in China He was always getting his wages off us until he left, whatever happened.
And I dunno where you were for the 18/19 season but that's the one which already categorically proves the club have no problem with Ozil not being played, even when he keeps his mouth shut. Because Emery benched him most of that season for being a lazy as well. Nearly got to CL too until he had to put him back in because Ramsey got injured. You remember Ramsey don't ya. The bloke Juve were willing to pay 88mil whilst not wanting a bar of Ozil even for just 5 mil. Oh but let me guess, that's because China told them not to yes.

So club gave a player 350k contract in 2018. and they were okay with him not playing in 18/19. Great business then, let's blame Ozil for that.
