You say you'd get rid of someone as if it's that easy. Who is going to take Willian off you at the moment? Who else is going to pay Pepe what you do?
These are players you are stuck with.

Why would he agree to take 6 months of his wages when he can get 2.5 of them just by sitting around?
Wonder if it might be good idea to loan Pepe to a league abroad if he’s no better by the summer, then might have chance of getting a decent fee for him. I think he’d certainly do better in France or Italy than he would here

Oh the lack of reading compression on this forum is hilarious. Especially with you WB2 lol.
I stated IN AN IDEAL WORLD.
My point is not to say we will get rid of these players easily and that we will get a fairy godmother to get them out and give us lovely transfer fees for them. I truly realize that chances of shipping 12 to 14 players is ZERO. Maybe some will be wanted (i.e. Torreira or Chambers etc) but yes no one will take Willian or Pepe atm. All I am saying is that in a squad of 25...to have at least 12 players who are poor (in my opinion not good enough to step into the squad when needed without our quality falling off the cliff) is terrible and an example of what not to do.

Really? Bellerin is not a squad player. Willian and Pepe until they completely tanked, were regularly in the starting 11. Elneny has started a ton of league games (yes Partey has been injured) and so has Ceballos. There was a time when Lacazette was BENCHED for Nketiah. These are not players who play in cup games...these are players who have started vs Liverpool in the league etc.
I class squad players as the ones who play in cup games or for rotation. I'll accept Chambers, AMN, Kolasinac, Willock have been used as what I'd deem squad players. And I'd also expect that. However, the ones who I listed have been playing week in week out for some and are simply not good enough. And they are definitely paid a lot more than I'd expect to pay a squad player

But Elneny has only played so much because you have an injury to a key starter. That is literally what you pay squad players for.
In an ideal world, I'd change the manager so we got one who'd use the feckin squad we have properly first. Then judge the players from there. Hard to truly judge anyone in the midst of the sh !t show Arteta's put on. I just hope he doesn't bust one of the kids trying to save face, for his grand finale.

Players i would like to be sold or sent on loan -
Runnarson - Loan or Sold -
Mustafi - Sold (leaving on a free in 6 months anyway)
Chambers - Sold - Should be able to get least 15Mil
Kolasinac - Sold
Willian - Sold
Maitland Niles - Loan / Sold - Not rated by Arteta
Nelson - Loan - Needs a PL or Champ Loan like ESR
Willock - Loan - Needs a PL or Champ Loan like ESR
Torreira - Sold - Think hes better than Elneny though
Nketiah - Loan
Almost had it with Pepe - Only saving grace for him atm is that hes a winger and when he players we are rarely playing to his strengths. With ESR and Odegaard they should be able to thread balls to him where he can run onto instead of picking the ball up near the halfway line and looking like bambi on ice.
Almost had it with Pepe - Only saving grace for him atm is that hes a winger and when he players we are rarely playing to his strengths.
--------------------
Yeah I think this is a big deal in terms of his performances. Bellerin doesn't help him much either, for all the games they've played, they got overlapping right for one game. Maybe they hate each other because Pepe and AMN were getting that right together all the time and same with Soares when he plays. I know Bellerin can do it correctly too,so I dunno his and Pepe's problem is with each other.
For a start, Maine, you are selling all our homegrown players. And the 3 who will stepping up. That means you have already restricted the squad to 17 plus u-21s. In Europe the rules prevent us from using some of our best U-21s as well.
Buying homegrown players isn't all that easy or cheap, and the prices you put on Bellerin, AMN, Holding and Chambers is not going to get much. Lamptey, who I think is one of the most overrated players in the league and not a great right back at all, would be very expensive, as will Aarons no doubt. Neither are currently at a standard to come straight in and perform at the standards you expect.
Hate Elneny, but if you sign Bissouma and sell Elneny, release Ceba back to Real and loan Willock then one injury will leave you short in midfield. And, of course, you won't have AMN as an option because you have sold him as well.
We are going to lose Mustafi, Luiz, Kolasinac, Lacazette and some others over the next couple of years, and it is going to cost us a fair bit to get the players we need to improve the team already. Adding a lot of squad players to the shopping list doesn't make sense. We need to develop the likes of Azeez, Cottrell, hopefully one of Ballard, McGuiness or Clarke will come good, maybe Moller can make it. But none of them are ready yet.
Just for clarity, squad next season:
Leno
Cedric, Saliba, Gabriel, Mari, Tierney
Partey, Xhaka
Saka, Martinelli, Smith-Rowe
Aubameyang, Lacazette
13 players. Zero homegrown. You are looking at adding at least 10 players to the squad in one summer, plus integrating Azeez and a couple of others who almost certainly need another year of development.
And with Laca near the end of his contract and Auba getting on, signing at least one top class striker becomes very important very quickly.
Also, Gabriel and Martinelli (maybe others?) will miss start of season for Olympics. Partey and Elneny will miss part of the season for ACON, many will be playing in international tournaments in summer probably (unless covid can help us out).
Not sure why people want Holding sold. Guy is a solid squad player who rarely lets us down.
If Bellerin is to be sold then we need to sign a ready made top class replacement. Have no issue with Cedric being a backup RB as he can do a job to a decent standard if called upon imo.
Hoping this is not another Dennis Suarez or Kim Kallstrom situation
