I think he was running a pub in Lincolnshire until recently harle!

He was a terrific centre-half - upright, tall and brave - could play a bit too. Elder statesman to all the kids coming through under Tommy Doc.

I ,met him a few times in Woking when I was a boy, and also Southampton when I was studying there in the seventies Brum.
I also met his brother Charlie as well. who was a good footballer.

Very many times Brummie. John was a character and a leader. Great memories!!
