Very big game this. A loss will be another big knock to the teams confidence.
Sow has to do ninety minutes. Krvinovic should give us a lift.
They are a young team and will be full of running, I hope we can keep up with them.
Thanks for another good intro to the match thread
There are 3 worse teams than Forest is by no means a gimme. Rotherham were supposed to be one of them, they have just thrashed Boro 3-0 at the Riverside, the same Boro that won comfortably at ours the week before. There is obvious some discord within our ranks, it now looks like Arter could be on his way, Sow could possibly leave and we are being turned down by the likes of Gosling and Grosicki, something is definitely amiss at the CG. We beat Barnsley 1-0 at home last season but have since lost by the same score line on the last 3 occasions all at Oakwell. First goal tomorrow will be massive, as I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not the only goal. After last weeks mauling by the Swans CH will obviously make wholesale changes again, possibly all ten. Our sides only consistency is our inconsistency, but that true of many other teams. I keep looking for a performance to build on, like Millwall at home, but every time we get one we fail to back it up. We are in dire straights for fire power and looking to bring in 37 year old Glen Murray, excellent player in his day but afraid his best days maybe we’ll behind him, he is also a players who thrives on wingers, another commodity we are short of. We desperately need to start picking up some wins and with away days at Coventry and Wycombe coming up we are in danger of getting dragged into the bottom three. We have the players, individually to stay up, but do we have the fight as a team ? Fingers crossed for 3 points tomorrow, but I doubt it will be easy.

Yes I was thinking of writing a piece as to how important February will be, in the relegation fight, but that will have to keep for another M/T!
RFB, apologies for stealing your upcoming thunder, which I look forward too immensely, but our current plight is so much deeper than just one game, it actually appears to run throughout almost the whole club, fortunately it hasn’t got to the academy yet. As you say February is a massive month for us.

Obviously a lot of changes from last Saturday, but also changes from the 'boro game. Ribeiro and Yates will obviously miss out I think Ameobii and Grabban could also drop to the bench as CH looks to bring in a bit more energy. Bong and Taylor should keep their place and Krovinovic and Knockaert also make up the starting eleven. I'd like to see Swan and Konate make the bench.
Samba
Christie Worrall McKenna Bong
Sow
Knockaert Cafu Krovinovic Mighten
Taylor
Sadly I think a draw is the best we can hope for against an overachieving Barnsley side.
I hope not! need 3 points today
Well I'd take five points from the next three games.
I've just seen the team.
We are doomed.
Figs, Cafu, Sow, Ameobi, Grabban. Where's the energy?
Could be embarrassing; and you'll know I'm usually very positive.
Henri Lansbury has joined Brizzle
Anybody think that is a winning eleven?
Other than our worst centreback being put in the team ahead of mbe-soh, and our top scorer on the bench, and having no energy in the squad due to an average age of 42.... I’m feeling really confident!
Samba, Christie, Figueiredo, Worrall, Bong; Sow, Cafu; Ameobi, Krovinovic, Knockaert; Grabban.
Subs: Smith, Mbe Soh, Bachirou, Freeman, Jenkinson Mighten, Lolley, Blackett, Taylor
——-
What does CH see in Figs, the guy is having a mare of a season and should be on the bench at best, McKenna missing again.
Can’t say I am feeling very confident.
No
Why keep picking Fig's?
jeez
Great signing for Brizzie, not sure he would have come back to the CG, didn’t leave on the best of terms.
Grabban still has the arm band.
I have 100% respect for Chris Hughton; he has been in the game for nearly 50 years at the top levels but some of his decisions really puzzle me.
Afternoon fellow reds. Disappointment is my overriding emotion.
In comes the likes of Harry Arter, Jenkinson, Freeman. Any club would expect to see improvement from players of this calibre coming in. But we very rarely see the best of them.
Jeez, this is dreadful...
15 minutes in and we haven't even got the ball into their penalty box.
Barnsley are marauding and having beaten Norwich last week are clearly no pushovers.
We need to contain them (somehow) and launch our own offensive. We’re not bad when we launch attacks.
Barnsley look better but we’ve had the best two chances of the game, not surprisingly we failed to hit the target both times.
What is Grabban thinking, offside when Knockaert plays it through, very lazy play from Grabban.
We have dangerous front men. Knockart, Grabben and the new winger all possess a threat.
