Irish Republic, essential worker status so was able to use the hotel restaurant. The beer was all cans and bottles but it was still a novelty, the first can never touched the sides.

Still nice to be sat down and be waited on though.
Our bars and restaurants are open from something like 7.30. until 9.30. and from 1.00. until 3.30.
For a couple of months, as a geriatric marvel and a medical impossibility, we’ve steered clear of eating/drinking out, largely because many visitors to the seaside appear to believe that sea air counters the mask and distancing requirement.
To my hope of seeing the Rams lift a cup before I go, I’ve added dining with a tablecloth
When do you reckon Spain will be open for tourists from the UK Cat? Obviously from a Spanish perspective. I am hoping to do the Camino del Norte this year, starting 15th June.
I had my true British Oxford Astrazeneca vaccination yesterday. The doctors rand me in the afternoon and asked if I could go straight away...I said yes please.
Hope Macron is wrong and it works!

The odds are in your favour, VC. I had the Pfizer jab 3 weeks ago and should get the second one at the end of March. I felt a bit pesky for a few days after mine, maybe unrelated though a few colleagues also felt a bit under the weather. No significant symptoms though.
At anything over 50% effectiveness there will be a big effect on the transmission which is more important than protecting any one individual though of course it’s the latter that we tend to think of.
As I’m sure you know, VC, the Oxford vaccine isn’t all that true British. AstraZeneca is a joint Swedish/British company and the vaccine was produced via an Italian collaboration.
Peaky not pesky btw. I’m always pesky.
Thanks Vidal, I see what you mean about the 50%, but I have had a problem with my kidneys, am old and maybe a tad overweight, so I've been worried. I think when all these new vaccines are available, just when the young folk get them, they will get the best ones.
My granddaughter who is a Sister has had 2 Pfizer jabs in December, I think medical staff should have had the jabs first so they are well enough to look after the rest of us.
I still can't tell I've had it, I was expecting some coldish symptoms. But I was impressed with the way the doctors handled the job, there were a few more people who had just been rang up, so they must have had some more vaccine.
Good. Take care though. We are nostril deep in Covid at the moment and being overweight is a huge risk factor. We have large numbers of patients in their 40s and 50s and pretty much 100% of them are obese. They nearly all recover happily.
Thanks again Vidal, I am trying to be careful and was worried a bit when I went to Tescos, people get close to you.
I was wondering how your hospital was getting on with Covid, I used to like to read your advice...I'm always washing my hands, I'm getting like Howard Hughes!
Yes don’t forget that. With all the focus on masks hygiene is still the most important thing. We are peaking now supposedly. Everything else is closed down to cope with the numbers. Had all of the cases been evenly spread over the year rather than coming in waves then it would have been far easier to deal with.
I'm getting like Howard Hughes!
