Well, if Rodgers is going to play Perez instead of an actual centre forward there’s no point in signing a centre forward!!
I get the impression we’ve lined up a striker for the summer and we don’t want to disrupt those plans.
Because if not, it makes no sense to try and do some business now!!!
seems like Chalobah loan is off, he playing for Watford tonight, phew that was close...
Bad rumours Fofanas out for 5 weeks
And I thought the rumours of signing Chalobah were as bad as it was going to get today
Thankfully Soyuncu has looked in top form since his return.
Having Pereira and Soyuncu coming in for two injuries just goes to show what quality we have in the back line!
Apparently Choudhury was going out to Newcastle, their guy was going to Watford and Watford’s guy was coming here but like a house sale the chain fell down and no one moved.
Not really worried either way.
Yeah, there was nothing that jumped out and said “we need this player and he will improve us” did it.
More just squad bolstering but for all Choudhury’s failings he’s a known entity and can fill in if required. Not quite sure why we were so keen on an attacking midfielder when we have Maddison who is first choice and Under/Perez who can play there??
As Praet was often operating in that narrow wide role I find it strange we are looking to replace him with an attacking central midfielder.
Am I missing something?

An attacking Central midfielder 😳
Sorry Dubs, I was talking about Rodgers saying that he wanted more options in that area with Praet being injured.
We then get linked to a Chalobah (who has played everywhere in his career but seems to be getting deeper). He actually strikes me as a similar player to Chouhudry so to miss out doesn’t feel a big loss.
Seemed a not strange that 3 clubs were swopping players about who do the same job 🤔
I never got the idea of Hamza going to Newcastle, almost as much as not getting the idea of Chalobah coming to us. Hamza was massively criticised for his assault on Matt Ritchie last year, leading to Ritchie needing an operation and missing half the season. Plus Matt Ritchie himself I can't imagine would have been pleased with Hamza turning up. (Even if he did deserve it for trying to injure several of our players through the first half before Hamza nailed him.)
