McT was magnificent tonight too. Worth singling out.

Fantastic energy, intensity and determination right to the very last. Recycled the ball well, usually picked the right passes in the oppo’s half, and pinged it about very nicely.

Topped it off with a cracking strike.

MOTM as Plumpy said.

Everton next, bar set very high.

I think a 90 min-long attacking drill against a nine man defence will actually have been really useful for the forwards and fullbacks.

-------------------------------------------------

Hopefully because some of the things we saw tonight we don't often see against 11 men so I want to see us replicate these things more regularly from now on, there's no reason why we can't or shouldn't.

He should be getting closer to the box more often because as we've seen tonight and against Leeds, he's dangerous when he gets in those areas and it just goes to show that when Fred and McTominay play, it doesn't mean they're acting as holding players.

Our midfielders should be joining the attack more often, no matter who's playing.

We benefitted from Bruno being on it tonight and more than a few of the loose balls and deflections falling our way, but I think the lack of pressure will no doubt have really helped, confidence looked high, and hopefully the coaching staff can hammer into the players that this is what they can achieve when they believe and focus.

Could Mike Dean not have given a yellow because the ball had gone? Thus negating the clear goalscoring opportunity. A 'foul' for the clip but just a pen and yellow.

Yep, we really should always have at least one of them in where Pogba goes when he’s playing with Matic against the bottom half sides.

You only need one CM in there to recycle when you’re up against two deep banks of four, particularly with the CBs we have.

Surely the ref could have claimed in his report he thought the keeper could get to it? Surely there's room for some compassion and common sense?
