got to be pleased with our last 3 games - leicester are top of the away league and before yesterday had only failed to score away once, and chelsea were 3rd in the home .league.
and yesterday we were without our best defender and best forward.
you only have to look at liverpools current form to see the effect of losing your best players. some dont allow for wolves losing their 3 top scorers who got 49 of our 79 goals last season - and i know i've been one.
mind you it was the club that needlessly sold two of them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree with you ganger. 5pts from the last 12 available is encouraging, a couple of clean sheets thrown in and flashes of some very nice play. Can't get too hung up on missed chances cus ultimately the opposition also missed guilt edged chances. Most importantly we're closer to 6th than 18th (points wise)
Some on here have criticised Jose. He cannot do anything without the ball and I do not recall anyone passing it to him.
He did pick up a loose ball on halfway, sent a great pass to I think it was Traore he raced forward to see that the ball was sent back into our own half.
He must be as frustrated as I am with the backward passes all the time.
A classic was a corner taken short, ended up with Coady.
So frustrating.
Ends justifies the means I suppose.
we have always been a defensie counter attacking team since promotion but with jota we were far more direct on the counter .
I think Jose will prove to be a good signing but I thought he was disappointing yesterday. Being a striker isn’t just about hanging around in front of goal waiting for the ball to arrive. That might have worked in the days of Lineker and Muller but not anymore. You’ve got to make things happen and I don’t think he did enough yesterday
And I agree the results have been good in recent games. Leicester, Arsenal and Chelsea are decent teams and we didn’t look second best to any of them. Despite all the negativity in recent months I still think we’d have been competing in the top half of the table with teams like that if it wasn’t for having so many injuries
This is much more positive threadsters, give yourselves a pat on the back

I see Doherty was left out of the starting eleven yesterday. How about a cheeky 5m bid for him in the summer? He's much suited to our 3-4-3 than the straight back 4 that Spurs play.
I do wonder if Nuno had agreed to let both Jota and Doherty leave and begs the question as to how many of our better players will the club let go this summer.
Doherty won't be returning to Wolves, and rightly so.
Our 3-4-3 system has been discarded now, and only resurfaced as a last resort due to the injury crisis. I have no doubt that Nuno's preferred system when he has everyone fit will by 4-3-3 or 4-4 feckin 2
Samedo Coady Boly Jonny

This is the kind of comment that leaves me posting negative stuff. By all means be positive but can we not be realistic as well? We didn't look second best to Arsenal? Which one? The ten men or the nine? Because the eleven tore us apart first half.
Overall I agree we have improved and confidence is finally returning and it is frustrating to keep getting injuries, especially when we have to keep changing the back line when we need some chemistry to build back there, with Jonny back a four would surely have been chosen until Boly goes and gets injured.
The week ahead should really allow us to build confidence and score a few goals so I hope we take advantage of the opportunity, a cup QF will at least give us something from this season to look on with some positivity.
Nuno will be going all out for cup glory!

the greatest striker ever
After the team was announced, our illustrious poster (DJ) posted a back four of Semedo, Coady, Kilman and Jonny. Total bollox of course and we went with a back three and secured a clean sheet.
I'm sure, even when Boly is back, we'll stick to 3 at the back. But hey, as DJ posted.I have no tactical nous. Seems he doesn't either with him thinking we'd go with that ridiculous back four.
I think we all agree that Semedo is crap at RB. As for Lone Wolf's post, well, all he does is post sarcastic comments.
Not bad achievements for a "crap right back"?

I am actually blown away by how critical Wolfie is of Nuno these days to be honest. Have to admit though one of the highlights of this season was seeing Nuno go with a back four after Wolfie among others told me I didn't have a clue and Nuno will NEVER EVER do that
