Why can’t anyone just accept that the players are burnt out? Not only have they put absolutely everything into the preceding two or three seasons, they’ve had to cope with a decimated squad virtually all season.

We were in the ascendency a bit until Alisson messed up twice but City were VERY good when they got into our box. Near faultless.

It's down to injuries, poor form, excellent opponents, wrong team picked

For the second error the players shouldn't even be giving the ball back to him. He nearly gave a corner away when he passed it to Fabinho, that there is where alarm bells should be ringing to say "lets get rid of this", but they persisted and City squeezed.

It doesn't make the second error any less excusable, but it's naïve from everyone in that 10 seconds of play that was involved. Just knock it 50 yards and deal with the second phase of play.

This is the difference between us and city tho.

They have 11 football players on the pitch all comfortable with the ball at their feet. Our strength is getting it forward to the front 3 not playing tippy tappy football.
