You’ve just saved me typing all of that - well written and agree with all of that other than I think we will be ok for top 4 and also the other big mistake was picking our best player at the time jota for a meaningless game
We need a RB to take some pressure off Trent. We need 2 new CBs, we need a creative midfielder and we need to replace Bobby with a clinical striker. All this might be made more difficult if we fail to make top 4.
I also can’t see Mane and Salah staying if we finish outside of the top 4.
We will only sign a midfielder for gini and perhaps a forward . Can’t see us Losing anyone to Spain as neither club have any money
I read somewhere that we if we don't get top 4 then the Nike deal is affected because it requires CL football. That will be another kick in the backside if true.

Dont personally think we need 2 cbs. 1 will do it with matip relegated to 4th choice as thats all he can be trusted for. If kabak shows enough you would assume he will be signed.
I think keita is a decision too. Theres a player but we dont get to see him. He will be 1 of the highest earners at the club. We should be getting far far more out of someone who is on his sort of wage.

No, we have a CB on loan and one who was signed purely for the short term. Matip won’t be here next season so that leaves us with VVD and Gomes with Davies and Williams as 5th and 6th choice.
Hopefully Kabak can turn the loan into a permanent deal by performing well....but we still need to buy him plus one other.
Hope that the work we are doing with keita fitness will pay off - should be clear one way the other in the next few months

It's kind of hard to argue against us having two new CBs considering that's literally what we have. Probably best to give Davies a chance to show what he can do before writing him off as a short term signing as well. Hopefully we see Kabak in the next game.
I think klopp has valid gripes. We were missing 7 players v Brighton whilst City game was postponed for covid. That city game should have gone ahead

I hope they both excel. I can’t see Davies getting too many minutes as I think Klopp will go Kabak and Fab for the remainder of the season or until injuries dictate otherwise.
I still stand by my opinion that FSG let Klopp down massively with not getting in a cb as soon as the transfer window opened.
The only reason we even got a cb in was because Matip was ruled out for the season. That’s so naive.
We were top after Christmas Day and had a chance of a treble and because of stupidity the season has pretty much become a write off. Really poor from the club.

100%. I was banging that drum all season, even when we were riding high. It was never sustainable. They had a clear example with city last season in trying to wing it and it going knees up with their laporte issue. We should have learned from that.
No idea , but he is a very good player and if they can get to the bottom of what’s going wrong that would be huge . Agree re ox and Matip

I said exactly the same. We had some really good games in November and December but also had games where we just scraped through.
1-0 v Ajax 2-1 v Spurs etc. Won our champions league group, got to the top after the big win v Spurs. Klopp deserved the funds to get a proper centre back in, but wasn’t given the backing. Now we see the struggles.
Keita will be retired before he's 30 at this rate.

You do realise why it didn’t don’t you? It wasn’t about the number of players out.
A very good post. At the time, I thought that ManU’s delay in signing Fernandez last January was crazy, thinking at the time that LFC would never do or delay something like that. And then we did the bloody same this January. Twice.
Full marks to City, overwhelmingly worthy winners.
Am I right is saying that that’s three games now that Thiago has got himself booked within the first 3-10 minutes of the game? I think he is a fantastic player, certainly not worthy of the criticism he had on here, but, when’s it going to end?
Jurgens got seven days now to get the house back in order. After the debacle of January and this month already, he’s got a huge task on his hands.
Tonight’s defeat was nothing less than a humiliation. Time and again I’ve been critical of Alisson’s clearances, but his performance was terrible. Again, I’m a big supporter of him, but, again, way below par.
Where do we go from here? 15 games to go, top four position looking increasingly precarious, a tired looking team, seemingly devoid of confidence, plan, desire(?) effort (again,?). Where was the teamwork? Yes, Bobby didn’t have a good game at all, but he wasn’t alone in that, was he?
It’s going to be a struggle.
Just get behind them people, that’s all we can do.
Salah's dive must have embarrassed you all.

Actually, Liverpool did not play that poorly until their Goalkeeper started messing up(?). Perhaps if City had scored that first-half penalty then the game could have been over sooner, after Gundegon's first goal in the second half.
Trouble is that there has been a certain arrogance with LFC this season which has been portrayed by Klopp on the sidelines, and in his post-game interviews. This caused real problems to be overlooked, mainly their player depth. Every team has injuries, but LPC, in their own minds, were not supposed to lose and, if they did, it was always the fault of someone/something else.
Mr. Klopp needs to take a good hard look at his whole squad and the marginal tired performers he has. Pep, like him or not, has a lot of fresh legs both in the starting line-up and on the bench. He has set his club up much better to weather the impact of injuries.
