Agreed Spurtle. Suarez the better player not denying that, and my article is proof of my feelings towards him. But, on another note, my other article had a lot of Liverpool fans almost have an unappreciative attitude of Salah which I found very odd. Even a Liverpool fan “Kash” in this article admits some Liverpool fans don’t appreciate Salah.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty stupid if they don't, Don. If we had him instead of say, Berg, you can only imagine the kind of difference that would make to us.

It’s nostalgia biased Spurtle. Happens all the time. Currently Liverpool are having a very poor season and Salah is one of the guys getting blamed. So, they pine for an older player. In 10 years time, Liverpool fans will be saying how Salah is one of the greatest players of all time for them. Both exceptional footballers and I totally agree with you, Salah is definitely up there among the Liverpool greatest of all time
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Salah is 1 of the greatest of all time for the club. But thats not what you asked. You asked who was the better player. Im not really sure why you are going on the defence when people say they think suarez was a better player.
Salahs liverpool legacy will be far greater but ability wise, suarez has been 1 of the top 5 players in world football for not far off a decade now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m not going on the defence. I agreed that Suarez was probably the better player, but what I found astounding is when a Liverpool fan says “Suarez is head and shoulders above Salah “ which a lot of Liverpool fans said on my last article. Just feels like you don’t appreciate what Salah has achieved for you. So, I’m agreeing with Spurtle in that Salah has got a bit of unfair stick. Very close between them 2 and no way is Suarez is “head and shoulders” above him, sorry but he isn’t. Like I say, nostalgia bolloks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Any liverpool fan that doesnt appreciate what salah has done has to seriously be questioned as to whether they are in fact a liverpool fan. He will without question for me go down as 1 of our greats and if he stays another 2 or 3 years and continues the way he has he could very easily find himself in the barnes souness keegan category, ie: the category below gerrard and dalglish.
From my own personal viewpoint though suarez was just outrageous and again I'll state seeing him in the flesh from the stands just enhanced that opinion. He does all the things firmino is praised for but also score bucket loads of goals. He was the very best ive seen and ive been going since 1993.

It's worth pointing out that while Suarez contributed a lot to Liverpool almost winning the league, had he not bit anyone and got that lengthy ban, I think they would have won the league. He led to your title challenge and inadvertently helped end it, along with the rubbish defence.
Although yeah, I would put Saurez ahead of Salah since he's been doing what he's been doing a lot longer than Salah has.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ive heard carragher hit out with this one before. Of the games he missed we dropped 5 points. Yes them 5 points would have won us the league but how many points did suarez gain us that season. Far far more than 5.
Without him we would have been 6th 7th at best, as was proven the following season when he left and we had over 100m of new investment yet still flopped.

Sure but it should go down as a negative towards Suarez for all the good he did. Salah doesn't go around biting anyone and getting himself banned.

No he doesnt but I also wont let it sway my opinion om who was the best player ive seen play for my team which is what the original question was. Ive already said salahs liverpool legacy is greater than suarez's.
