Ole is bringing a feeling of unity and love back to United whilst spending reasonably.
------------------------------------------
£130m on a RB and CB,

It's like Ole's found football Primark.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.

English players always cost about 20-40% more, yet you conveniently leave that fact out.

Pep doesn't spend it or sign them tbf but yes teams with high wage bills and transfer spends tend to do better.

Spyrs have spent plenty btw. Their spend per trophy is one of the worst in Premier League history.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Tottenham spend far far less on wages then the other top six. This inhibits the talent we can procure. I'm sure we would have won a couple of titles if we had spent the same amount as Man City, Liverpool, Man U Chelsea and Arsenal.

I think we have to acknowledge that until Tottenham PLC are prepared to break there wage structure we will always struggle to win titles at the top level. At the moment we are a well run club who are on par with what we spend. Nothing to be ashamed about. Just how it is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Really....according to this reliable link you've posted, Citys wage bill is £7m more than Spurs.

are you seriously saying that City other wages (£180m) massively exceed their squad wages (£135m).

the source of that £135m what exactly? some website?
--------------------------------------------------------------

The one provided by Morespurs earlier on.

I think it's safe to say Deloitte are a more reliable source for this sort of thing than Planet Football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Simply say you prefer the figures which suit your narrative. One was reporting only players wages while the other was reporting gross wages including non playing staff.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

players wages are pure conjecture and media guesswork. Deloittes figures are taken from published accounts. For sure an element of all wages will be non playing staff but if you think that Citys non playing staff wage bill (£180m) is bigger than their player wages (£136m) then you are the one selecting fantasy numbers to suit your narrative.

Someone said earlier that city have 450 other employees....if that was the case they'd all be on £400k. Even if you halved it toallow £90m for the wages of Pep, assistants, coaches, other bosses, that still leaves everyone else, from the steward to the grounds man to the kit man earning £200k each.

It doesnt take too much basic assessment to understand this just doesnt stack up and that he figures from a random website are likely to lack any great accuracy.

The link is actually trying to support your argument. If you look over the five year period Man City have spent 100s mils more on wages. I aree the 7mil last season looks iffy. I do apologise if that's not clear. No doubt about it....Man City are on another level in terms of wages.

You can't read obviously!

That link wasn't provided by me, and I specifically said I was NOT talking about wage at all.

Pep for all his accolades, has always had a dopey spotted weak, FIFA game career as a manager. Take over some club where there is ton of money, if not cheat and get the money, and buy, buy buy glory

So we're back on net spend, not wages then.

Spent more than Arsenal. What? In terms of wages and fees the gooners have spent hundreds of millions more than Spurs. Thats basic knowledge.

Wages are a bit of a red herring at times, because paying someone something reflects the ability of the club to pay as it does teh quality of the player.

United could offer Kane double the money Spurs are paying him. Doesnt make him any better a player than he is at Spurs.

CIty seem to offer very competitive wages without going OTT like the likes of United have in the past with some individuals - Sanchez at £350k a week springs to mind BUT because so many of City's squad are top drawer players they will have a higher wage bill overall.

City's wage structure is heavily linked to bonuses.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Which is probably why the reported headline rate of £136m player wages and total wage figure of £315m is so far apart. There is probably 10s of millions in bonuses paid out over and above the £136m basic.

Every club has to report it's annual player wage bill to the PL and UEFA for FFP purposes, that figure will include any bonuses.

Any figures used for HMRC etc will be for the whole club, from directors down to part time cleaning staff which is where the £315m comes from

guesswork!

I prefer to call it a hypothesis as City are a private company and are not obliged to make the details known to anyone unless it's a legal requirement.
