Clarke injury not serious (apparently).

Wayne was NOT happy. Quite rightly too.

Fair play to Wiz for putting his laces through it.

Fair play to Wycombe. They have a 'style' & stick to it. With that spirit perhaps theyre not doomed yet

That is a remarkable 15 points from the last 18. only scoring 7 and conceding 5. Have to say Wayne is squeezing the best possible outcomes from not a particularly good team.

Expecting a totally different game on Friday, but I'm a bit concerned what Will will do to our midfield if we dont beef it up

Was Pfizered today. Pity TEG isn't still around, he would probably claim there is no corona virus but it was invented by the Chinese and the vaccines will turn me in to a rabbit.

On the other hand, Spart, at least we'll be able to track you when you go on one of your rambles

Which one Spart, Flopsy or Mopsy?

Pfizer do another drug if it's the former.

Pfizer are really responsible for penicillin. Fleming hadn't a clue how to make it even though he has the credit for its discovery. The British failed to manufacture enough to cure one patient but Pfizer were able to manufacture in quantities which would change the course of medical history. The blue pill (apparently the word is banned!) was a lucky side effect for a drug for high blood pressure.

This is true, they needed to produce it to treat soldiers who caught STDs after D-Day.
(And other ailments too!)

Brizzle have sacked their manager.

Morning after thoughts:
Well, how would we fare against a team of players of Arnold Schwarzeneggar proportions led by Goliath as their number 9 ???
Bit mixed really.
I must admit I do like the management teams' "horses for courses" approach, because against a team of leviathans it was never going to be easy was it. Hence the bringing in of more muscular players for this game - and equally giving a couple of players a rest.
I was impressed by Wycombe's 100% pressure approach - but perhaps that was their undoing in the end, as surely it's impossible to keep going at 100 miles an hour during the game without tiring and then switching off - which for me was exactly what happened to them.
Anyway, we did have some good moments, but again allowed ourselves to get pulled down to their level too much at times and did not quite get a grip of things. Passing was often sloppy and misplaced putting extra pressure on ourselves as the ball was kept being bombed into our penalty area. Equally too we gave away too many free kicks - again allowing balls to be bombed into our box.
It wasn't all doom and gloom though was it - as again we had a real Roy of the Rovers ending. So, players who impressed me were : Marshall - for some impressive saves to keep us in the game, Mengi - he looks a real prospect, although he has some learning to do ...and tbh I was relieved when Byrne took over from him as he'd had a real babtism of fire. CKR for leading the line really well....yes he missed a sitter but still was comendable. Edmundson for the way he stepped into Clarke's shoes and grew into the game - and impressed with some surging Clarkesque runs into the Wycombe half. Roberts too, looked tricky when he came on and he looked good. Finally Waggy - I questioned his use to us as a player the other day - but he gave non stop effort and his corner kicks are very difficult to defend against. Although a couple of his free kicks were pretty wayward the last of course was crucial - leading to the goal....and what a way to finish the game.
All in all an entertaining game - but definately not a classic. Yes, we had some luck in the game but we've had things go against us in the past so happy when they even out.
On to Watford. Be interesting to see how we do against them. As I recall we did everyting but score when we played them at home and lost 1-0. How we do will be an indication how this team is doing. Again I say we should fear nobody in this league. Yes I'm a bit concerned about how we'll replace Bielik in midfield, but certainly for now I'm happy with results....

Morning.
I'm a bit confused about why so many people on here are critical of Joz and Waggy?
They are both naturally attacking players who, under the system we are playing, are being asked to defend a lot as well.
This, of course, makes them less effective up top but makes us a harder more resilient team all round.
To me, they have both done a great job of the dual role in the last few games. They look tired after 70 minutes, because they have been up and down the pitch non stop.
Roberts came on for Joz last night and was clearly told not to track back but to provide more of an attacking option as Gregory was off. We changed from 442 to 4231 so yes, he looked more of a threat up front because he was fresh, playing against tired legs and not being asked to track back.
Would he do as good a job as Joz or Waggy in a 442? Given Warnocks comments (I'm not a fan but the bloke does know what he's talking about) I'd say NO. But, in a 4231 with his obvious desire and ability to run at players, I'd say yes! Horses for courses

I agree they are doing a decent enough job out of possession but Jozwiak in particular I think has been very wasteful when he gets in attacking areas. Imagine some of the comments had Lawrence been similarly profligate when we had a good 3 vs 2 situation second half and he decided not to play in Kazim but instead held onto the ball and lost it. Similarly the way he has thrown himself to the ground once or twice recently would have resulted in tirades of abuse from one or two people on this site.

I look for the good not the bad in players as a rule and from the way he started this season there is clearly a very good player there. I don't think the state of the pitches is doing him any favours when it comes to running with the ball which is his strength. He's young and hopefully his decision-making will get better as he adapts to Championship football which is probably very different to what he has been used to.

Waghorn is what he is. Sometimes his touch is terrible and he isn't a clever player like Roberts but managers know the value of a well-taken set piece and his delivery of the dead ball last night was excellent, producing both goals. So you can see the desire to keep him on the pitch. I thought it showed real astuteness by Rooney that when he wanted to bring on Roberts' quality he sacrificed Jozwiak not Waghorn because the latter was more likely to generate a goal, not from open play but from a set piece.Twinkly footwork catches the eye but Rooney knows the value of the basics and this is what has got us the points in recent games. If and when Lawrence ever gets fit again he will have four options for wide positions and he can pick and choose depending on match situation and type of opponent.

Yeah, basically right. Now isn't the time or place for a more critical analysis.

Can't argue with five wins from the last six games.
